What do you wash with? (your nappies that is)
I have been washing with soapnuts which have been good but I do like to use a powder on occassion just to give it a bit of an extra wash. I was thinking maybe frontlaoder eco laudry powder.

Be careful with the eco store laundry as it isn't very gentle on natural fabrics like bamboo.
Have you tried the soapnut powder?

Yeah I'm using itti bittis too and its that build up of smell that i"m trying to get rid of. Soap nuts are fantastic but they do leave a smell and the stains aren't removed. With it getting less sunny that mean stained nappies.
Hmm itti bitti are a natural fibre so maybe the eco isn't good for them.
 More advice please.
Muz glad I'm not the only on ewith these problems.

I use ecostore with our nappies, haven't noticed anything noticeably bad happen (have a couple of itti bittis)
Argh the smell - it's hideous at times.. basically I have been doing soak for 4 hours in napisan then rinse.. then hot wash, then another rinse and out in sun for the day.
Doing this every few months. Seems to help quite a bit. HTH

hmm the smell is hard to get rid of. I use napisan baby care on my nappies. For everyhing else cold power sensative. It seems to work out sheapest for us. At paknsave.
I hate eco store powder. It eats the wool on eocbubs pockets. and I don't think it does last longer than other brands like they say it does.

for those with smelly nappies, have you tried that Canestan rinse - customers swear by that to help kill bacteria and get rid of smells. You can use it with Soapnuts as well |

I use Amolin liquid, and I don't get any smells. Sometimes it doesn't always get all the stains out (especially on the cotton of the Dream-Eze!), but sunlight gets rid of most.

Try popping in a splash of white vinegar and if you want, a drop of two of essential oils. The vinegar helps get rid of stains and is anti bacterial. Def gets rid of the amonia smell |

I do a rinse cycle first then wash with ecostore powder. They seem to come up nice and clean and smelling good. I try to dry them in the sun - when we have some!

What is nappy san baby care?? Is it different to normal nappy san??
Does ecostore have enzymes in it and that is why it eats the wool naps....find this all very confusing coz I used to nappsan every nappy load but then got ecobubs and read not to use with enzymes and assume nappy san has enzymes??

I would only Napisan if absolutely needed, the sun will get out most staining. I wouldn't recommend soaking minky in napisan, so if you were going to do itti bitti SIO's, then just soak the inners.
There is so much conflicting info out there now re washing powders etc. My main bit of advice would be to stay away from any powders/liquids with enzymes.

I used persil sensitive & some of my itti bitti's fell apart (the bamboo layer), so was told it was probably the persil & to use ecostore. Same thing has happened again, so I am none the wiser. I don't know whether it's my washing machine, whether I dry pail them too long between washes, or whether it's the strength of the wee on them. Never had any problems with any other nappies though. Anyway, re the smell, I've found using either Canestan or Dettol rinse in the rinse cycle works wonders.

I've been using the eco store liquid - I heard that's better for them than the powder?

The strength of the wee, and especially while teething can be an issue on bamboo. I would suggest to always rinse the nappies immediately after use if your baby is teething and you are using bamboo and wash regularly. This has happened to others with other bamboo nappy brands, so we know it is not just an issue with itti bitti.
