for those kids who have had it..............some of the people i have talked too said the change was pretty much straight away...my sone just had it and adnoids....but he is still a sh*t...........nothing at all has changed and im i dont want him to be on medication to control the anger issues.......so has anyone had it done and there has been no chnage?
Is his language development on track? It's fairly common for kids with recurrent ear infections to have delayed language and can affect behaviour. Also, you may be dealing with well-learned/embedded behaviour patterns and they can take a while to change. AND (sorry, last thing I promise), how does he feel after the op? Does he notice the change in his hearing? Is he more sensitive to noise (maybe oversensitive?)
no you can barely understand him..he has only just started putting words together.....no he wasnt more sensitive...he just6 scremed heaps and told me saw........he had hearing tsted before the opp and it waas fine.....so im finding nothing has changed........the only thing that may be different is the ear infection.....so frustrating....he use to bang his head so hard he use to put holes in the wall.............he is still doing that which concerens me.....will give it a month i think to see how it goes
My daughter just had grommets (2nd time) and adenoids done about 6 weeks ago, they only difference I have noticed is that her hearing is more sensitive (immediately after). I thought we were having behavioral problems due to her ears but it seems not as she has not improved in that region.
It has seemed to help with her night sleeping though as she was waking up several times a night screaming the house down for no apparent reason and not remember a thing in the morning. She has not done it since a couple of days after her op.
Head banging can be a sign of food intolerance, especially along with bad behaviour . Fact sheet I haven't read the whole sheet, but worth a read for you??
thanks....headache no well not all the time...he has been head banging since he was 1 ish and sometimes he doesnt eat at all for months just drinks bottles which we only give to calm him and most of the time has medicine in it.
will give it a read when kids asleep .
i have noticed that he is sleeing through the night without waking now though or tossing and turning...he use to bang the wall so many times a night and with a new born guess who was up all night
