Is it worth it? Maya is busting her boiler for one for Xmas, but she already has about 2 dozen dolls she doesn't play with much, so am reluctant to spend so much on one. Does anyone have one? Is it worth it? Does your child play with it?

We reluctantly got our Arabella one last Christmas, but only because she sat on Santa's knee and asked him for one so we didn't want to shatter the illusion while she still believes in him. Anyway, as expected, it was a waste of money for her. It might not be for everybody but for her it was a one-minute wonder. It is all quite a messy process feeding her and then cleaning up the "poo" and you only get two nappies (I think) so once they are used, you need to buy more. Also she's by no means a cuddly doll. So if you can talk Maya out of it I'd recommend that, but then again we tried that and Arabella was still determined she wanted it! If only that ad didn't keep coming on TV |

I remember wanting one so bad when I was little and never got one. Its funny I don't remember any of the presents I did get but I remember not getting that doll.

Christopher really really wanted one when he was a bit younger than Maya. My mum got him one that was similar but about half the price and he was really happy with that. He really loved it - then he discovered Thomas... Thats a whole other ballgame in the cost department |

we got one for our daughter last year, once the food for the doll was finished she never played with it again.(i think she went through the lot on christmas day)
Last month the warehouse finally bought out some more food and nappies so have purchased some for her. but at $10 for 10 sachets of food its pretty expensive, it lasted one day!

she plays with her softer dolls more i find, as she can cuddle them in bed.

I forgot to add, you can buy some cheap and nasty "newborn" nappies from the warehouse in bulk (Rather than paying ridiculous amounts for the baby alive ones) and she could have enough fun feeding it water and watching it wet itself.
