When Josh was born I was able to cradle-hold him both sides and it was great. A few days I had to change the right side to the rugby hold and that worked for us up until now... He is getting too long to rugby hold and want to change him back to the cradle hold. I tried it and it feels like its back at the beginning of BF all raw and sore. Do you think trip to someone that is clued up on this topic (LLL or lactation consultant) would be a worthwhile trip?? |

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

But which one should I see?? I was thinking of going to the BF talk up at the hospital tomorrow and seeing someone there, but I always thought that the talks were for new mums. |

The BF talk is done by the lactation consultants and they are usually pretty busy (i know barb) so it's prolly best if you call them and ask for an appt that way they give you the attention u need.

Why don't you call your doctor's office and ask them who they recommend?
I had an idea in the meantime. Can you feed him lying down? It might phase in the different position a bit more gradually.

i had this trouble with jack after he had his leg harness taken off. i had to change positions and as a result i was in tears every time i fed him it was so painful. i called la leche league and they came to my rescue. was feeding again comfortably within the week |

i would call la lech league, they are awesome to deal with. OR i dont know about palmy, but down here plunket have a lactation consultant on staff, and i have dealt with her a few times with jordis - the latest was 2 months ago, so dont worry about ringing them.
