of being engaged ie 1/5 are they able to turn or are they "stuck" in that position until after the birth?

Well our bubs still managed to turn from posterior to anterior (luckily for me) while at D2 but now its too squashed to move much at all, so only moves from side to side slightly! I am pretty sure they can still fully turn as long as it has room, please correct me if I am wrong someone!

Yep they definitely turn, in fact if baby is engaged and posterior, they are about 98% sure to turn to anterior before or during labour. Some babies flip out of being engaged altogether but that's less likely.

yeah I am sitting on a swiss ball right now, to try and move baby from posterior position. M/w said that you can open up pelvis and then baby can still turn around...

Sam was head down, ready to go, and he turned into a footling/kneeling breech at 38 weeks!

Yup they can turn, Daniel was fully engaged and was anterior and flipped to posterior in labour .. and MW thinks this happened when I was about 7cm dilated... how nice of him

Caprece was anterior and fully engaged and then turned posterior and popped back up  luckily she turned anterior the next day and was born the day after that

Sam was posterior for most of the pregnancy and still that way when labour started. The good wee girl turned anterior during her exit though which apparently is quite common 
BTW, I tried absolutley everything to turn her, from scrubbing the shower floor, leaning forward on chairs, down on all fours, swimming - you name it I did it and she never turned
Don't worry though, they still have to come out no matter which way they are facing, and by then you just don't care anymore!!!
