Am really keen to talk to other people dealing with hyperemesis. This is my third pregnancy with it and I am finding the nausea so overwhelming even though I am on the max dose of Ondansetron.

wow, your third pregnancy with this, I really feel for you, this is my second pregnancy but only first time with hypermesis, and it was hard...can't even imagine going through it with two kids already, luckily my boy is super is good so it was okay....terrified of it happening again if there is a next time..apart from the medication the only thing i found that helped was keeping as hydrated as i could, even though most of what i drank came strait up, i forced more down so that something would stay in.....
Luckily mine has passed now but took a good 20 weeks....hopefully you feel better soon and it doesn't stick around to long

I had it with both of my pregancies. First time by the time I was 16 weeks I was starting to feel a bit better but 2nd time around I basically threw up for the entire 9 months (I think I had 1 month off at around xmas time- so 6ish months which was nice) and it started from 5 weeks. The first 12 weeks were the HARDEST, particuarly looking after a toddler...some days I could barely get out of bed let alone look after her as well. I was really glad that she was able to entertain herself quite well, while I lay on the couch. I would love to have another child but the thought of being pregnant, looking after 2 kids and having hyperemesis really scaries me. |

Awww huge i had HG with my 1st, 2nd and 3rd pregs (thankfully my 4th preg i had no HG and very slight MS) i too was on alot of meds and had a few weeks in hospital as well and unfortunately nothing seemed to ease the HG. It did get a bit better at 20ish or so weeks with all the pregs. Its really a nasty thing to suffer with and so hope that it get alot better for you very soon hun. Take care.

Oooops I replied to your other thread you started lol
I had hyperemesis and really feel for you having to go through it for a third time.
I had a bad reaction to the maxalon they gave me for it. I had a friend who reacted to it to. Causes shaking, anxiety, insomnia, depression, heart pulpitation and I couldn't be left alone without panicking. Thankfully that went away after stopping the meds, but still left very sick.
I'm sure since its your third you already know all the tips of eating early before getting up for the day etc.
Wish I had a magic cure for you |

Awww, big hugs Katte! Have you talked to your midwife or GP about trying other medications as well? I ended up on a cocktail of drugs during my pregnancies.
Ice-blocks are your friend, especially if you are feeling nauseous when you feel peckish and you are trying to get some food sussed out for yourself, lollipops too. The sugar helps tide you over a bit (might pay to carry some boiled lollies or something with you). And if you think you will vomit, have a quick cup of water - it's much nicer throwing up water than anything else, or nothing at all (when I heard that I thought 'what a gross thing to do!' but it actually worked quite well).
I'm sure you probably know all the tips since you have had it in your previous pregnancies. But wanted to send u big hugs anyway, I will be thinking of you!
   CONGRATULATIONS |

It's awful isn't it? I had it 7-13 weeks with DS and 5-35 weeks this time. I have been feeling ok for the last week or so and have been having 1 dose of 4mg of ondansatron for maybe a month. I started off with 3 doses too.
I just keep telling myself that I am going to feel AMAZING when bubs is born
