But I think Im going to knock him out I am talking about Lesieli's non existant father, the one that never sees her, has the audacity to drop a birthday card once in her whole life off to her school office and that is it, even thought we have tried and tried to invite him to marching comps, netball games, birthday parties etc. Anyway last Sunday we were doing a sausage sizzle at the warehouse and he was there (obvis shopping). i told her to go and say hi, so she did and ended up going on with him to look around. 30mins later she comes out and he waves goodbye and goes. She then tells me he gave her $10 and said she should go and stay over. I said that will be great he can just ring me and we can organise it. She then says he asked her to stay over for good , he said he would love to have her and they will have heaps of fun! *faints* How dare he think after 13 years (yes she is 13 in 7weeks ) of my hard wrk and dedication that he can sail in as the "cool parent" well it aint going to work. I am a real parent the one that has the killer instinct when it comes to my children, I would die for them and there is no way he thinks just because he donated the sperm and that she is named after his mother is going to get him a free pass to a beautiful, intelligent, fit and healthy teenager. I am all for her having weekend stayovers but they will be on my conditions, there is no way he is getting his other kids to text and set up stayovers, he needs to come to me and ask. I swear he better watch himself because I am pretty easy going but my kids are my life and if I ever feel someone is threathing me little family I will not stand for it..   Ok rant over..... Grrrr for crazy BF we have as teens, we were together from when I was 12yrs till 18yrs and I seriously must have been delusional the whole time!! |

you poor thing. i think every single mum fears that. never mind they have done feck all the rest of the time.
i must say i was one of those 13year olds that did it (a while ago now) I used the "Its my decsision im old enough now" line then i moved in with dad and it broke my mums heart. She never told me at the time but its my biggest regret.
Your daughter is not too young for that talk. you dont need to bad mouth her dad but some home truths about him may wake her up a bit.
Good luck, it will be tough but it may stop her from making a big mistake

What an ass!  Do you think he even realises the kind of affect statements like that can have on kids or is he just inconsiderate and self centered? When my nephews dad suggested the same thing my nephew ended up in tears and refused to even visit him JIC it meant he couldn't go back to his mum (he was 5 at the time). You have raised a beautiful, intelligent, kind young lady and she is a credit to you and you alone. If you're thinking of setting up a lynching mob let me know.

Big hugs Kels. It always amazes me how some guys think they can breeze in and out of their kids lives as it suits. I don't blame you for being furious.
 Take care.

   Well done and well said.
You are such a warm and caring person who has done a amazing effort the last 13 years, your daughter and her siblings are testiment to that!
For you to even be willing to let him into her life is a statement in itself.

Stick by your guns and know you have plenty of support when needed!
