So I've been feeling quite down the past few days.  Once again Jett's had another abscess come up (4th one now since January), and was seen by the Paed on Wed - which was just a check up appt from when he was in hospital in July - but this abscess came up, so good timing as he got to check on that.  Paed said he would have to go back to Waikato to get the abscess laid open, and they would check for Crohns (which he's mentioned in the past).  I'm angry that this wasn't tested for earlier, and that they said after they found the last fistula & opened it up, that it wouldn't happen anymore, and it has.   It's hard work emotionally having your baby go through these surgeries, and my heart dropped when I saw the abscess on Sunday evening, knowing what was going to have to happen again.     The other thing is, that Dh is having knee reconstruction surgery on Wednesday next week, day before Jett has to go back to Waikato H.  So I'll be taking Dh to the private hospital in Tga, leaving him there the night, then Thursday going to waikato with Jett.  DH tells me Jett's surgery is more important (which I know), but going under G.A is still risking and so i'm still going to be worrying about Dh, and I won't be there for him on Thursday & his mum will have to pick him up from hospital.  I was hoping Jett would be going to Waikato a lot sooner than Thursday, and if the abscess gets bigger I'll be taking him straight to the Dr, in which they'll probably refer us straight to Waikato anyway.   I guess I'm just overwhelmed with it all.  I sort of feel like my closest friends & family aren't as supportive anymore. They're over hearing that Jett has to go back to Waikato.  When I tell them Jett has an abscess they're like "oh, another one".  I don't really know what I want people to do though, and I don't even tell a lot of my friends now what's going on with Jett, as I feel they don't understand, or really care as much as when he first started getting them.   So I'm carrying around this emotional burden of what's going on with my baby boy, and yet I feel like no one gives a stuff!! |

That's awful timing for you all, and girl, I really feel for you, 'cause it's horrible being disappointed yet again about your child's health. I really hope this is the last time for him, poor wee Jett. This sux for you guys.

Thanks Ann.  I've had a lot on my plate for quite some time.  So I really don't need this extra worry with Jett's abscess problems.  I seriously thought I'd never see Waikato Children's Ward or operating theatre again after his last visit.  The paed's sounded so confident that was the last of it.  I was mentally preparing myself for looking after Dh after his surgery, and this is an extra load on my plate.  humph.

          to you and your family.
That's a lot to deal with in one go!
I really hope everything settles down for you soon.
Fingers crossed they can find out what it is that's causing Jett's ill health and fix it up quick smart!

Hugs Italiah! I hope Jett's op yields some answers and I'm sure DH will pull thru his knee reconstruction like a trooper. Willie had a total knee reconstruction years ago and it hasn't slowed him down much.
I can relate to your feelings of frustration, the gremlins seem to spend half their lives at doctors and hospitals and I really hoped Chiara would be a bit more robust but it seems not. It's at the point where I'm almost embarrassed to tell people one of my kids is in hospital/sick coz it's like "oh no, not again!"

Hang in there, and we're all here to listen when you need to vent!
