hi, hope you ladies can help me, not actually trying to get pregnant but am having ovulation pain and have a few stupid questions and thought you would have the best knowledge.

I thought that ovulation swapped ovary each month but I am always getting the pain on the right side is it possible to ovulate from just one side or to ovulate from one side for a while before it swaps? (have only had the pain for 4 cycles and never had any pain before having Spencer).

The first 3 times I had the pain it was smack bang in the middle of my cycle which seems to be running at 27-28 days but this time it has happen only 9 days after AF is it possible to ovulate at different times each month? (might explain why it took so long to get pregnant with Spencer).

Is there anything else that I could check that would indicate that I am actually ovulating?

I'm just wondering if this pain isn't related to ovulating in which case I should probably mention it to the gp but if it is related to ovulation should I let him know that i'm ovulating at random times or is that quite normal?

Sorry I'm such an idiot when it comes to all this stuff

It's possible to ovulate at random times or twice in a month - obviously not the norm though, could be a hormonal thing. Are you up to day 9 now? It will be interesting to see if you have the pains all the way up to about day 15, as that's what I've been having. First 5 days of it, then 7, then 12... One thing I did to monitor my ovulation was to starting charting my temps for a while.

I'm on day 10 got the pain yesterday and still have it, is more localised than previously. The first couple of times it only lasted a day or 2 last time it lasted about 5.

I don't think i'm ovulating twice but is it normal to ovulate at different times each month? The last 3 times it was day 14 this time the pain has started at day 9

Important Facts to Know About Ovulation:

     * An egg (ovum) lives 12-24 hours after leaving the ovary
     * Normally only one egg is released each time of ovulation
     * Ovulation can be affected by stress, illness or disruption of normal routines
     * Some women may experience some light blood spotting during ovulation
     * Implantation of a fertilized egg normally takes place 6-12 days after ovulation
     * Each women is born with millions of immature eggs that are awaiting ovulation to begin
     * A menstrual period can occur even if ovulation has not occurred
     * Ovulation can occur even if a menstrual period has not occurred
     * Some women can feel a bit of pain or aching, near the ovaries during ovulation . This is called “mittleschmerz”
     * If an egg is not fertilized, it disintegrates and is absorbed into the uterine lining
     * Sperm can live in a woman’s body up to 5 days after intercourse, though more often 2 days.
     * Pregnancy is most likely if intercourse occurs anywhere from 3 days before ovulation until 2-3 days after ovulation.

most of the research i found says yes..ovulation can occur at different times of the month due to stress etc.. but generally is around the same time..

i know after my miscarriage my ovulation etc was different from normal and different each month ..
