Topic: Acupunture during IVF     Posted: 17 November 2010 at 8:48pm |

Hi ladies, has anyone done acupunture during an IVF cycle? I am having my first IVF in Feb and have started thinking about acupunture. I have heard it can increase your chances, is this true?

I am in Auckland and was wondering if anyone can recommend someone good?
Also when is it best to start having acupunture before IVF, is it best to have it a few months before or will a month before be ok??
 Any advice greatly appreciated x

I know that Fertility Associates have an accupuncturist that they recommend as a friend of mine went to her, sorry don't remember her name but can find out if you need.

I am going to the accupunturist assoc with Fertility Assoc - it's called Naissance. I have just got back done and it is bliss!   I have just got a BFP and I also got one from my third transfer (now my son) and did accupunture then as well. I think that there is something in it.   Last time I used Arch Hill Accupunture and Patrice is really good too but I am not working in town anymore so going for location.....

   thanks ladies x

thanks snooze, i asked fertility associates and they recommended Margaret Morris at Naissance to me, I think I will go with her, have emailed her for the details and will start in the new year
A lil scared of the needles though hehe
I have heard acupuncture is good during IVF and I really want to have every chance of a BFP, how far before your IVF did you start? and how often did you get it during IVF?

oh ok thanks, they suggested going to them 3 months before I start IVF, but it is quite expensive so would rather wait till closer to the time to start going. I will see her a month before start IVF & she what she says.

Hi Tiff8ny, I have been going to acupuncture for a year and love it.
According to my acupuncturist it is best to start a few months out or you won't get the same benefits.

I go once a week, and then you go before transfer and after transfer.

 Good luck!

thanks Roella, I would love to start a few months before IVF but have spent so much on IUIs, naturopaths, supplements etc that funds are getting low! will see what we can manage.
