Elle is half way through a course of antibiotics for an ear infection. However, she seems worse not better. She is quite miserable, not wanting to eat or play and is tugging at her ear a lot. When we started the antibiotics the infection was only in the left ear but I'm suspicious about the right one now too. Granted, she spat a lot of the antibiotic out for the first few days but I still would've expected an improvement by now. Should I take her back to doc or what until the course of antibiotics is finished?

Hmmm its a tricky one with ear infections. My gp won't even prescibe antibiotics for Ashleigh when she has an ear infection as in most cases they don't help as it is a viral infection. We generally just have to ride them out with pamol to help with the pain.

You should have seen a bit of an improvement by now. I have fund that if Isla hasnt improved in a day or 2, then she wont on that antibiotic. Go back to Dr , or ring them up and check with the hurse. I think they are likely to change the antibiotic she is on.
 Hope she feels better soon.

Yeah I was reluctant but she's had the infection for 2 weeks now. Poor poppet. Mind you, the last 2 days are the first days she has actually taken the full doses without spitting most of it out...

Oh dear poor Elle. I'd go back and get the Doctor to take a swab to see what the infection is. Then you will know for sure if antibiotics will help.
Other than that a warm wheat bag helps sometimes if she will let you put it to her ear.
