Topic: Presents for little girls?     Posted: 19 September 2007 at 9:00pm |

I want to send a little present to my friend's two girls - one is almost seven and the other is 18 months. I want to stay in the $10 region for each of them (so $20 total). Also it has to be reasonably small, so it can be posted to Australia.

I don't know much about what girls of those ages like. Can anyone recommend something?

A packet of hairties (that can fit in an envelope) and set of stickers? The 18mo won't be able to have those though.... still thinking on that. Maybe some little hard cover books.

Do you have a Dollar Value or $2 Shop in your area? These shops have lots of things for all ages, so perhaps something from there?

Opps, posted too quickly - another thought for the 18month old - something for the bath? Some fish squirters or similiar?

Kiya is 6.5yo. She likes reading, activity books (dot-to-dot, mazes, wordfinds, that sort of thing), My Little Pony, Polly Pocket, Barbie, beads and dress ups. Anything that seems grownup, while still being age appropriate (toy makeup, pretend cellphones, that sort of thing) she absolutely adores!

When she was 18mths old, she liked dolls and balls. Sorry, can't remember what else, its been a little while!

they have these awesome w2ee books at the warehouse called "bright baby" we have one with baby animals, trucks and tractros, colours. My little boy LOVES them, and we sent one to our niece who has just turned one. she loved them too. Under $5 I think. I'm a big book fan for kids though. For the older girl, maybe a little recipe book? I gave one to my six year old nephew and he loved it, My step-sister didn't ("mum can we make pikelts pleeeeeeaaaaasssse") but thats another story.

Clothing is easy to post.  And books make awesome gifts for kids too.
