Topic: Blisters from Crocs     Posted: 06 March 2009 at 9:44am |

Oli is obsessed with croc style shoes. He has a little pair, but I bought him a new pair of the "cool" ones from Cotton On Kids. They have rubbed on the inside of his feet and given him little blisters. I have had to hide them, as he LOVES wearing them, and he doesnt understand that they are going to hurt his feet.
Any ideas on how to stop them rubbing?

sorry id say they probably just have to be worn in like normal shoes, maybe see if a bit of talculm powder will help cos they can make your feet sweat

This happened to Isla this summer with a pair of billabong jandles- the blisters where on each side of each foot, just below the ankle, where the ankle strap was joined to the rest of the jandel. I felt so bad that she got a blisters. I personally didnt think it was fair to make her have to 'wear them in' so gave them away.

Wear socks with them while they are breaking in, I sent Caprece to preschool today with socks and crocs. I just hope the fashion police don't patrol babies

Put a material type plaster over where they rub.

Lol i use socks with them too sometimes - nothing wrong with that ;)

Sam, wee Oli has impeccable taste - i have somewhat of an obsession with those Cotton on crocs, Lucas LOVES 'em too! We haven't had any problems with blisters, but I think with Oli just let him wear them in and as someone mentioned above - would be worth trying the cloth plaster idea ...or even just a band aid over the area that seems to be troubling his foot.

With the crocs, best to get the rubber ones, not the plastic ones (sorry would have no idea what type they are). If they're the rubber ones, yep just wear socks with them until they lose their factory shiny coating (IYKWIM) and then they shouldn't give him blisters anymore.

Hmm now that ya mention it emz, I can't decide whether the cotton on crocs are rubber or plastic - think they're rubber but could be wrong

Thanks ladies - the ones that he got given from his cuz are from #1 Shoe Warehouse and are softer rubber than the ones from Cotton On which are def a harder plastic.
I am going to keep him out of both pairs for a few days to let them heal a bit. Will have to hide them as he is obsessed with wearing them all the time. He especially seems to like wearing them with a nappy and nothing alone.

Oh cute! At least he's not like my boy who spends all day trying to rip his clothes and nappy off so he can walk around naked in my shoes lol

   LOL emz

what is it with them liking the freedom of just wearing a nappy?! Lucas does that too, and he wears his [bright] yellow crocs 24/7 (his FAVE colour of all time - he chose the shoes, they seriously clash with every outfit he owns )
