Just following on from Busymum's post on bathing - I was just curious how often everyone washes their childrens hair? I bath Ashleigh every night and have been washing her hair every night aswell but I don't think I need to do it that often - it just smells so nice!!!! Plus she is quite spilly so if she has spilt while lying down then is gets all in her hair...

I wash the gremlins hair every night, but I don't use shampoo, I just add the bath liquid to the water. They're pretty spilly babies and always smell like sour formula, their necks get so scummy from dribbling milk down their chins!

Maya's gets washed when it looks scummy, mainly coz it is such a performance coz she hates having her hair washed so it literally takes Willie to hold her down and me to wash it.

I usually just rub some of the soap free bath wash liquid type stuff on Erin's head each time we shower....

I'm like Emma, whenever it starts looking gross or smells funny lol.. Ella doesn't really like having her hair washed either. Her hair is really healthy though, maybe it is from the lack of shampoo

I just rub whatever bath bubbles we have in... or just water if we don't have them in that day... in the kids' hair until they are a year old - my kids don't grow hair very fast so about 1yo is when they need their first fringe trim to give you an idea.

The older two get their hair washed (with J&J blueberry shampoo) once or twice a week.

I wash Zaara's Hair every night (since she has sooo much of it) but use Shampoo every second day. Mind you some days she comes home from Day care and has sand in her hair then she gets shampoo'd!

I like the way it lives her hair all silky and shiny and smells great!

I wash Ella's hair maybe twice a week with shampoo, the rest of the time we just rinse it with the bathwater.
She hates having hers washed too.
Haven't washed Benjy's yet, but that's because it is only about a cm long

water washed most days, as the curls get unruly, but shampoo maybe once a week? More if he has put food in his hair or has had a sweaty smelly afternoon sleep. By water washed, I mean a wet facecloth on his head, its a bit of a drama to get his head under.

I wash Han's hair when it starts looking gross too.... so maybe once a month?? That's mostly because she has eczema so I try to limit the frequency of shampooing so not to aggravate it.

I forgot to say that Ella has a shower every morning with either me or DP, so I guess that means her hair is washed every day - by the shower running through it

Every second night I wash Olivia's hair with J&J's and the other nights I use bath water. If I have taken her swimming or put sunscreen on her hair and it isn't a HW night I wash her hair anyways. I do it because it is slowly removing her cradle cap and also it makes her hair smell nice and shine

i wash xanthes hair every night with a baby shampoo. we had progressed onto a kids formula one but it gave her cradle cap so back to the baby shampoo. her hair always ends up with all sorts of things in it by the end of the day, so easier just to wash it. Jordis will be the same too i guess, she gets it washed every night as well.

Ella's a really spilly/spewey baby and has a great deal of hair, so you'd think I'd wash it every day, but since she also gets eczema, the fewer non-moisturising products on her the better.  Hubby washes it with water every day in the shower, and I shampoo it about twice a week.  Meow - I rekon it could be the lack of shampoo leaving your Ella's hair so lovely...  I had a right proper hippie friend at Uni who gave up shampoo entirely - her hair reeked for a couple of months, then became this glorious flowing mass of shiney dark curls.  We're such suckers for using shampoo!!
