I used Gas. It took me a while to get the hang of using it as it made me feel like I couldn't breath. But the threat of an epidural made me give it another go. It was so amazing esp when I was being stitched up afterwards. I dreamt about Gas for weeks after!

For Jacks birth I used the gas and loved it, I found it didn't do much for the pain but was a great distraction and made things funny between contractions.

For Capreces birth I couldn't breathe deep enough to get any gas as I was in more pain when started and was doing a lot of panting.

My epidural was FANTASTIC! I wasn't relaxed at all until I had it. After that I was much more able to cope. I didn't have pain and would love the same birth again the next time.

First borth had gas, and spewed, had EPI, didn't work. @nd time, used breathing till just before M/W broke waters, had an epi, had waters brken and baby about 15 mins later. easy peasy. Used gas for the "repair", but up until that only used gas to hang onto and sqeeeze (the breathing part, lol). Remember sayign how wasted I felt during the repair when I was "huffing" the gas, lol!

I had a shot of pethidine at about 10am cos I'd been up all night and needed a rest - was great then as I was able to get a bit of sleep. A few hours later, got in the bath and had gas. I dont think I liked having to lie in the bath, shower may have been better. Had a half shot of pethidine a bit later but I dont think it did anything. I felt really out of control and like I wasnt in my body, I think it was the gas, so this time round I'll have to do it with no pain relief No epis here...

I used gas for a start which did nothing except give me something to bite one then I had an epidural. First time with kobe it was great because I couldnt stop throwing up but once the pain was gone I stopped and actually enjoyed the labour/birth (apart from the ventouse side of it) and with Addison i had the epi booked as soon as i went into the hospital because I was worried about the vomiting again. Started retching, got the epi and didnt throw up once!!! Although it did wear off pretty quickly and I got the full force of delivery but Im just happy I didnt vomit (I have a vomiting phobia)

Hey, Aimee!! This time round, you won't feel so out of control cos your body (and you) will know what to expect!! (It's not really a drug thing!)
