Random question...Elle just had her 5mth vaccinations (yes, she is 5.5months late in having them  as the doc wanted to wait until she was settled (haha) so in the end we just decided to do them today).
Do you give pamol as a matter of course or only if they get a fever? I didn't give any last time and she seems fine so I put her to bed without.

if she is ok I would just leave it. Rhyley at his 6 weeks got high temp and so gave pamol at the 5 month ones too before he got unwell. But I only did it cause he reacted to the ones before. IF she is fine I would leave it and give it to her IF she reacts.

I don't bother giving it unless they seem uncomfy or feverish.
I've been told different things by different nurses. So I just figure its a personal choice thing.
ETA- Hope she's ok after them

Pamol is only to keep the temp down if it goes up.
I personally don't like to give them anything at all unless they really need it, but Caitlin has a history of really high temps after her jabs so I give it to her 2 hours before and then every 4 hours for 24 hours just in case.
Hope Elle is ok

She seemed ok about an hour after the jabs. I felt so mean though...she was all happy and was smiling away at the nurse and them whammo...needles and screams :( Being a mummy is tough sometimes. I've had a really bad feeling about giving her these jabs but just figured it was because I have put it off so long that I'd made it into a big deal for no reason. I hope I wasn't meant to listen to my gut and withhold the vaccinations!

We gave it after the 1st lot as that is what the nurse told us to do....yeah I know 1st time mum I listen to everything I am told.
But for the rest we never gave him anything as he was fine! Thank goodness he has his mummies chubby thighs and doesn't feel a thing!

I don't give Pamol unless they seem particularly uncomfy - I think I might have done that once.
A 10mo usually takes the imms harder than a 3-5mo, sadly. The extra fat on the thighs can make it more painful and they also have a better memory. Not to worry though, she'll forget it all after her next sleep most likely. (We started Hannah's imms when she was 10mo and started Briona when she was 5mo).

I give Pamol about 1 hour after shots. Minimum dose. Seems to help with that low grade fever and she always handled shots well when I do that.

we get sent a letter each time from the nurse saying to pamol them before the jabs and then after if needed - so we give it to her pre the jabs and then last time i gave her pamol each night for three nights cause when she rolled onto the spot it hurt her and she screamed. She also had a slight cold at the time too.

My mum is a nurse and does immunisations, she commented the other day that she tells patients only to give their baby pamol if they have a high temp after the vaccine, or if they seem uncomfortable. As she said, why load them up on drugs they don't need.
Just like any other profession, sounds like different nurses have different opinions. I trust my mum's one though, she's so good with the babies - getting someone to blow bubbles and stuff to distract them

Happy to say Elle is absolutely fine. No grizzlier than normal, no temp and no pamol :) Who knows why I was dreading the jabs so much

Hmm yea the toughest part of imms is the parents dreading it - not the kids LOL. Although I'm really NOT looking forward to the 4yo ones

I dread jabs to I have never taken my daughter by myself I'm to much of a chicken!
The first ones I couldn't even stay in the same room, the 2nd I was in the room with my hands over my ears and eyes shut, 3rd in room watching she is due for her 15mths so we will see if I have improved!
We don't give pamol unless its needed

I spoke too soon...she's been crying / screaming since 4pm and to help matters the power has been out since 4.30 and will be out for a "couple more hours" due to some downed powerlines!

That second lot of needles were the worst for both my 2.
