For those that suffer from Excema what do you put on your skin or your childs skin to stop the itchiness?? My arms are so itchy and i'm trying really hard to to scratch but I am giving in every now and then  and then they become even more itchy.

Mum use to put calomine lotion on me as a kid and that seemed to help, is good for sunburn too.
ETA - you could also try "pot of gold" I think they have a website. I've just borrowed some of their cream off a friend for a stubborn patch on the back of Spencers knee. Not sure if it would help with itchy but it has cleared that up quicker than anything the doc suggested.

Keeping it moist helps, & cool as you have found the more you itch the worse it gets, until you get to a really insane itch & theres just no stopping you from itching then. On a mild case you could try just cold milk - have some in a container in the fridge with a cotton ball eg. you can also put pinetarsol in as this is a great anti inflamatory. you can also soak some rolled oates/porridge in some water wraped in muslin, keep it in the fridge & dab on when itchy - this was a remady from a natrapath (sp)
A good cream to put on is Lemnis Fatty cream, I found it better than aqueos cream as the water content isn't as high & if there is a break in the skin aqueous cream can sometimes sting a bit.
If you get a prescription from Dr ask for the ointment option rather than a cream, this moisturises the area better than cream and lasts longer
Coloidial silver cream is also good, expensive but you dont need much so cover large areas

i second the lemnis fatty cream and coloidial silver cream. i use lemnis on jack everyday as keeping up with the moisturiser helps prevent the itch. i use c/silver cream on the bad patches and it clears it up 
otherwise, we've been trying to teach jack to rub instead of scratch, hard i know because i'm also trying to teach myself to do the same!  or you could try a cold facecloth on the itchy area

I suffer from excema and get a prescription cream from my GP - it's called Elocon and works wonders. Not sure if you can use it on kiddies though as it says in bold red letters "Prescriptions only medicine. Keep out of reach of children"

Elocon is really great, but as it says should only be used as directed by gp, we only use this if it is a really severe case and nothing else is clearing it up. it is one that makes the skin thinner so needs to used carefully

I use aqueous 3 times a day for Alize to keep his eczema at bay and Im waiting on my "pot of gold" cream to arrive. I also use Lipobase which you can get from the pharmacy. It has 2 types the lipobase and the lipobase repair.

I have excema at the moment, though think its hormone/preggy related as I never had it before getting preggers with this bub. The dermatologist gave me hydrocotisone cream, but I only use it if its really bad as it smells harsh and can also thin the skin. I use aqueous cream mostly to relieve the itchiness.

My neice has the worst excema. They have a cream they got from the doc. I am no help cause i have no idea what its called lol.
