Rach - I think I'd stay home and visit too. 10 hour days may well = partial bedtimes by yourself anyway, so I'd rather be in my own house
Cool bananas re: the wiggles. So, seeing as the tickets are available tomorrow.... just need some final numbers (and think I've talked Gary into coming too):
assuming everyone is in for the 'hot potato' tickets @ just over $35 each.... (sunday 24th, 11am)
Julia - 4 tickets
Rach - 3 tickets
Me - 3 tickets
Anyone else? I better check and see if there is a limit on tickets per presale transaction...

Ooh, Anna - if you managed to get the pre-presale tickets, does that mean you have the super special wiggletime code? hint hint nudge nudge? (or is it specific to your account etc?)

Sorry Blondy, down here Ticketek are doing a Visa pre-presale, so all you need is a Visa card, not a super-duper special wiggletime code
Funny that you happened to run into Hayden and KK, Sarah!
I've been dragging DH out of bed at night for nappy changes/winding etc, there's not really that much point cos I might catch an extra 15 mins sleep at most, but it's for my own sanity really ... and I might as well do it this week while he's off work and doesn't have the excuse of 'needing' a good night's sleep

I'm probably going to get in LOADS of trouble for saying this but Daniel seems to love The Wiggles (he knew who they were when we put them on at our place, so it wasn't me that introduced him to them!) - so Fliss, if you want to get a ticket just for him, since DH and I are both going, I'm happy to take him with us if you guys are going to be in Auckland for Easter?
Bet KK and K2 are marvelling over what a small place NZ is! You do seem to be bumping into us all over the place Sarah

Good lord, I remember when Ev was the only baby baby we had!
weegee, I vote with everyone else. At least it's for a relatively short time - my cousin's husband has been down rebuilding there since about October & she's going crazy at home alone with her two. Not that I think you'd go crazy or anything. ;)
I think we'll side with Fliss on the wiggles thing. Spud isn't in love with them anyway and we'll be on a pretty tight budget for a while so I'll use that as an excuse for protecting my sanity. Anyone else find them kind of creepy? >.>
Took her into work today cause I had meetings and greetings (and eatings yum yum). The consensus was 'she's really well-behaved' and also that she likes to eat. That's my girl!
And Waiheke for work Christmas again tomorrow (8:15 ferry boo). Apparently the afternoon is 'for doing whatever you like' so I might have a nana nap - will probably need it after whatever they're doing to us in the morning. I really hope there's a selection of actually edible foods for lunch / dinner so I'm not stuck with Coke and cheeseless crackers. Being pregnant over Christmas is exceptionally lame.

I know! I went out to dinner last night, and spent a good 5 minutes just absorbing/drooling over the wine menu, as if that would make me feel better
I'm dying for sushi and a beer
(I have been naughty and had ham occasionally, so I'm not feeling the pain there so much).
and for the first time this pregnancy, I'm starting to get a bit over it - first lot of swelling (yes, I know I'm lucky it stayed away this long!), bit of heartburn, rib & back pain, not sleeping well any more....... guess it's par for the course, but I'm now really looking forward to the next 7-9 (hopefully!) weeks just being over with
sorry, whinge over for now!
sottise - hope your xmassy do goes ok tomorrow!

I homemade sushi - I made it when PG and now have no interest in the store bought sushi!!
Don't worry weegee, I know Dan has seen them! I'm just focusing on developing his love of U2 "hey hey hey ... boots". I think they waych it a bit at DC.
Can I say, I am my Moby. Went clothes shopping with DH and the boys today - ended up chasing Dan around Westcity at quite some speed, at times having to carry him on my hip while Ben was happily snoozing away. Thanks Rach

I ate so much homecooked sushi in the first trimester that the idea of sushi now makes me feel sick, bad association! But it was yum when I had it.
Just to skite, Sottise and Blondy, I have been enjoying a light alcoholic drink this week, on these lovely sunny evenings ... shows how good my recovery's been this time around, as I was not interested in alcohol at all after Clara's birth, I think my body was in repair mode IYKWIM.
Whinge away Blondy, I remember the early third trimester being particularly hard, I perked up a bit in the later weeks though, with some extra nesting energy, and surprisingly a lot of my aches and pains easing off, so hopefully it happens the same for you.
Kye, you are crazy! I've never been a real exercise junkie - good on you though!

LOL at the wiggles! when I was nannying i looked after a little boy who was obsessed with them and played the c.d ALL the time! we just to put the cd player out the window so we couldn't hear it and he would dance on the trampoline to it!
Thats crazy you bumped into KK Sarah, im confused though is the base in Auckland? or is KK in Hamilton lol
Hope all the wee newborns are letting their mummies get enough sleep and yay for helpful DH's in the night. Mine isn't the best in the night Micah's been waking every 3 hours again in the night and im not happy about it !
question- I've been running a comp on my wall art page on FB to give away a painting , and have just found out that its against FB rules to do that and they have been deleting pages that are doing it. I really don't want to risk that as I'm close to 600 likes now but i don't want to make it unfair on the people who have entered. Obviously i will still give the winner a painting but do you think i need to end it earlier (supposed to be the 15th) to me that seems a bit unfair if people think they have until then, and then i suddenly say that's it. But i don't want to break the rules and then get deleted! arrghh any suggestions?

Lots of businesses run competitions on FB Kellie, I wouldn't worry too much about it ... but yeah maybe end it earlier if that will give you peace of mind.
DH is going back to work tomorrow and I think he's looking forward to escaping. Not from the baby - from the toddler ... this week he's been doing most of toddler wrangling (though I still help out too) and yesterday he commented on how tiring Clara is, how she saps all his energy, LOL, try being heavily pregnant with a toddler
Gah I've had a tough weekend. In some ways it was nice having Sylvie on a Sunday afternoon and having the week mostly to ourselves, but we got quite a few visitors this weekend when the sleep deprivation and baby blues were starting to set in... including my ILs, who turn up unexpectantly and expect to be waited on ... and FIL said some hurtful things to us yesterday, lectured us about the dogs (who are still fighting with each other), saying, among other things, that we're not putting our children first, if he was our neighbour he would be calling CYFS to report us, and that Clara doesn't feel safe in her own home (actually, the reason she goes to her bedroom when you come is that you are way too in her face, she can't be forced to be best friends with you when she sees you only a few times a year)... not what I needed to hear, being so emotional anyway! And so today I come down with mastitis - so typical ...
But on a brighter note, Sylvie - touch wood - is such an easy baby compared to Clara, and I'm enjoying her so much, partly because of her temperament but also cos I'm so relaxed this time around. Now if only I could get some sleep, life would be perfect
The night feeding would be hard work Kellie, is he having a growth spurt?

And while I remember, here are some details from last Sunday
3-4am – contractions started. At first I thought it was another false alarm, but by 5am I realised they were coming like clockwork, every 7 minutes.
11am – contractions 4 mins’ apart.
12.30pm – met MW at hospital. 5+cm dilated. Contractions slow a little, coming every 5 mins. The pain was manageable; DH applied acupressure during contractions and between them I was engrossed in a good book, and very relaxed.
2.30pm – 7cm dilated but contractions still 5 mins’ apart, so I agreed to have my waters broken to speed things along … which they do!
3pm – jump into the bath to help ease pain, with DH still applying acupressure.
3.55pm – pushing
4pm – baby Sylvie Emmeline born. Cord was wrapped tightly around her neck, so she emerged limp and purple, which was a bit scary, but after resuscitation she was fine.
An awesome birth experience, and a complete contrast to the traumatic labour I had with my first child. I felt in complete control during the whole labour. During my labour with #1, when DH would say “you’re doing great” I got angry, because I didn’t feel “I” was doing anything – it felt as though it was being done to me, and I didn’t have a choice (for example, to have pain relief). But this time, when I heard those words, I remember thinking, ‘yes, I am doing well’, and it was very empowering. Still very painful ;), but empowering and very positive.

Anna - grr at your FIL What ridiculous things to say to a mother with a newborn (well, actually ridiculous things at all!) I do know what you mean about the IL's expecting to be waited on though.... someone (maybe Fliss?) suggested to me that when they come (they'll be staying at least a couple weeks around the due date), that we are much clearer about what we need help with. After all, the main reason they're here is actually to help us out rather than it be a flitting social visit!
Hope today goes ok with DH being back at work! Do you have some other friends/family (other than the IL's!) that can pop in and help you if you need?

Grr Anna's FIL. That is not nice at all. LOL all htese comments about second babies being easier. That seems to be the way it is. Does that nmean 3rd babies will be a breeze or just as hard as the first beacuse you'e got 2 others to juggle.
No i'm not pregnant. Incredibly clucky but not UTD.
Sottise how is spud #2.
I'm having my haircut on thursday. Yay! I'm going to my mums hairdresser. Its going to cost me less with petrol included to have my hair done down there than in Hamz. She's gonig to look after my childs too.
We went to DH's work christmas party on Saturday. It was at his bosses house. There was a bouncy castle and playhouse, swings and slides and lots of little bikes. Ryan had a ball. All he ate was ice cream and chocolate and was awake til 8.30. He had a nice big sleep in sunday morning but was very grumpy (and hungry) when he emerged.

It's nice that your ILs have offered to help out Blondy. At least, I hope they are intending to help you out. I do have friends and family who could help, but everyone is busy with their own lives, especially at this time of year. It might be worth looking into a creche for Clara, for a few mornings a week though - she could probably do with the social interaction, especially now I'm more house bound.
How lovely that your DH had a family-friendly Christmas party Sarah! Yay for the haircut
Yes Sottise when do you settle on the house, is it this week? How exciting!
I might have spoken too soon re: an easy baby, we had a horror night last night, but hopefully it was just related to the mastitis and she'll be ok when it clears up (got some ABs today). Anyway I'd better start cutting dairy etc out of my diet, see if that helps. She has put on over half a kilo in her first week

at your FIL Anna what a stupid thing to say and definitly the last thing you need to hear id tell him to leave and not come back untill hes going be helpful!
Great birth story! Wish my second round had been like that- even though im sure like you say it still wasn't pain free!. For some reason both times now my contractions have been 1 min apart from when i was only like 3cm dilated and then it takes another 12 hours to get to 10cm with contractions every min- not cool. Doesnt make me want to go through it again even though i would love another baby one day! I have always told DH i wanted to adopt a baby from Africa
And yeah im hoping the night feedings are just a growth spurt because im sooo tired! Not getting to bed till close to midnight because ive got so much painting to get dont and then he's waking twice and up for the day at 6ish
Cruz is away for 3 nights in queenstown with the IL's , so ive been able to get lots more done.
A bit jealous that 8.30 is a late night for Ryan Sarah! its very VERY rarely that Cruz is ever in bed before then! he's like a teenager goes to bed late and sleeps in! Not by my choice but DH likes to see him at night and quite often we are out or have people round and he hates missing out on anything. plus he has massive day sleeps.
well i suppose i should go and do some cleaning while the house is quiet!
Hope everyone has a great day
