Haircut pics please Weegee!
WTG on the weight loss KK, and PMSL at "stinky" - lil miss does similar, she brings me a clean nappy and says "pooooos" and waves her hand across her nose
Happy sewing Fliss, I am so in awe - I failed intermediate school sewing .
Yep LF, have seen the elusive Tyler, and even conviced Kelly to buy a Moby .
Sounds like an awesome, awesome trip SB, I Switzerland, it is such a beautiful country. Yay for being home tho, and can't wait for the ILs goss.
Kimmies - I haven't seen the pics yet, will pop over to FB now
We've had an action packed weekend - my aunty is here from Whangarei with my cousins (16 and 7) so full house here. We went to Jack and the Beanstalk at the Logan Campbell Centre yesterday afternoon, then to Dressmart (where I bought fuschia pink patent ballet flats from Wild Pair for $35 ). Then this afternoon we went to the museum which was cool, lil miss took a great liking to the cow bones in the kids discovery area and thought she'd like to teethe on them .
Finding the houseguests a little tiresome tho - they don't clean up after themselves. I cooked dinner and did all the dishes, and Willie had to do their breakfast and lunch dishes. Mind you, having seen the state of their house, it's obviously not just here that they don't tidy up. But a bit frustrating as I have enough people to clean up after!

Oh and re: the action packed boys, lil miss is still her chaotic self, but I'm starting to notice that she is really growing up, she doesn't just follow the girls around, she actually joins in their games and interacts with them, and she's talking quite well so makes herself known. This afternoon at the museum my aunty called out "wait Daniel" and lil miss parroted perfectly. coz I miss my lil baby, but because she is growing into such a cool little person, so confident and happy. My friend that came to the museum with us commented on how different she is to the gremlins in how outgoing she is.
ETA: Sorry, shameless mummy bragging I'm just really enjoying this age coz when the gremlins were at this stage I had my head to far down the toilet to appreciate it.

Sounds cute Emma. :) Think she could tell your guests to clean up? >.>
SB, after a year overseas I all but swore to never leave NZ again, but I am extremely jealous of your trip! Can't wait to hear the goss too, nosy nosy...
Grats on the overlocker Fliss. When are you taking orders? :D
Kimmies, your party looked great. Pity the babies were a bit overwhelmed, but I hope you and no-longer-FDH had a good time - you waited long enough for it!
KK, go you on the weight loss! And giggling at Hayden - sounds like he's turning out a right wee character.
We're still taking our time with that whole development thing: Amelie reliably says 'ta' and took 7 teeny tiny steps today, so we're getting there.
She's developed this pimply rash thingy but doesn't seem unwell in any way. I'll ask Plunket on Tues but I'm assuming it's nothing to worry about. Unless anyone knows better. >.>
How about this weather, huh!

(If the formatting comes out too messed up go to their website, click on 'About Us' then 'Fees and Hours'.)
Yikes yours is expensive LF!
I think in home childcare is cheaper though?
Sarah funny about your little wriggler, I can still picture you with a little girl this time though, apparently I was the most violent in utero of all mum's pregnancies, she was convinced I was a boy. Apparently I used to bounce on her placenta like a trampoline and would wind her all the time. There's no place like home huh? Switzerland sounds very cool though. I have plenty of friends who adored Italy, guess you were just unlucky (and the ILs wouldn't have helped with that!).
I have taken some haircut pics but difficult to get him to stay still, can't guarantee they're any good, will upload in a bit
Don't apologise for mummy bragging Emma! I totally get what you mean. I was saying this morning how much I'm enjoying JJ at the moment, it's such a cool age, they're really developing personalities and starting to communicate (not necessarily with words). We have a couple of new words here, it took me a while to work out what he was saying, he kept saying what sounded like "owk" and pointing, most often at the cows, so I thought he was being a bit verbally dyslexic and trying to say cow. Finally realised he's been saying LOOK, duh. So after a couple of days of saying it back to him we're starting to get the L sound at the front He's absolutely loving his books at the moment, is constantly bringing them to us to read, Spot and Hairy Maclary in particular are big hits. I think because of Hairy Maclary (Caterwaul Caper is his favourite) his latest "word" is "boo woo!" in a gruff voice at the dog. (I know Hayden's been woofing for ages but this is the first time JJ's done it.)
Big yay at Amelie's teeny tiny steps!
We had a neat day today, first we went down to the fire station because some of the variety bash trucks were coming through and they had a bit of a water fight with the fire trucks (when I say a bit, I mean they were doing things like shoving high pressure hoses up people's jackets!) so we had a look at the trucks, JJ thought it was awesome. One of the trucks had the coolest 'siren', it trumpeted like an elephant and clucked like a chicken After JJ's afternoon sleep (3.5 hours!) we spent the late afternoon/early evening outside, JJ has discovered the wonders of gumboots and puddles and had to be dragged kicking and screaming back inside for dinner

Toddler babble/talk is so hilarious, lil miss knows about 4 songs word for word, you can only *just* understand the words, but the rythym/tune give them away. She knows "row, row, row your boat", "twinkle twinkle", "jack in the box" and this farm song we sing at Mainly Music "moo, moo, moo, says the cow in the early morning", she's so funny. She does all the actions - gets right down in her little box and pops up and does the "my feet are stamping". I must go pick up the new camera tomorrow so I can take some video/pics of the kids coz have just been using my phone.

Oh and we have had NO daytime sleep for the past two days . Granted we've been out and about but she'll normally catnap for a few mins in the car. She was perfectly happy, still bounding round like a lunatic, but I am soooo not ready to drop the day sleeps! Maya was about 18 mths and even that was too young!

This is the one place where Mummy Brags are ALWAYS allowed!!! Its funny when you suddenly click on to the fact that a random sound is actually a word they are communicating, last week Hayden would say 'baaaaay' all the time but when he said it and brought me my Complete baby and childcare book (that I used once to look up what temp a newborn's bath should be) I realised that 'baaaay' was him saying baby - he loves to look at the pictures of real babies in the book being bathed / eating etc, so every time he said 'baaaay' I'd say 'baaay-beeee' and he's clicked on now - its so sweet tho, he uses a special high soft voice to say it, which is probably how I say baby when pointing them out to him in books/RL etc.
DH was getting himself ready to pop down to the chemist as he needs more anti-hystimine tablets when I gave him a list for the supermarket and told him that Hayden would enjoy a trip out with Daddy, his face was so funny, didnt even occur to him to do more than one thing (get drugs) or take Hayden with him. They always have fun when they do chores together but DH still doesnt think of it himself. So its all quiet on the home front right now, very odd being in the house without small boy!!
Oh SB I'm soooooooooooooo sorry you didnt have a nice time in Italy, but honest to goodness it is an absolutely wonderful country, I adore Italy, unfortunately small towns all over the world are alike, imagine if you arrived in Eketahuna and had to find a motel when you got there and food to eat late at night - if that was your only experience of NZ you'd think it sucked here too!!! NZ is lovely but there are many amazing places around the world, dont let a few ups n downs put you off travelling - tho travelling with the Inlaws in your pocket is very hard work I know, I've done several road trip holidays in Europe with MIL and FIL and it got tough at times and I get on with them and didnt have a little person / pregnance to cope with as well.
Nursery rates seem to average about £50 to £60 per day food included here, migtht be cheaper up north I dont know but across the south that seems to be about right.
Hayden is doing the 'looking back at me upside down through his legs' thing alot now too, I showed him a forward roll yesterday but I'm sure he was too keen lol
H and JJ have the same literary tastes by the looks, Spot and Slinky Malinky are his big fav's.
Had pizza for dinner last night so am scared what the scales will say in the morning, I so so so want to be under the *shhhhhhhhhhhhh* 80kg mark and be 70something, I've done two 1hr sessions on the cross trainer this weekend to try and combat the pizza

Afternoon all.
Oh KK! 80kg shouldn't even be a shhhhhhh after you've had a baby! I would love to be 80kg...but after two babies back to back...it is going to take some time to get back down there.
I totally agree with you about your comments to SB - there are some pretty backwards towns in NZ!
How cute about Hayden saying "baby"
Hope Little Miss has had an afternoon sleep by now Emma!
Glad to hear you had an awesome day yesterday at the Fire Station Weegee.
Yay yay on the big walkies Amelie!! She is doing well Sottise. At this rate she'll be walking before Tilly..... she just prefers to shuffle everywhere on her damn knees at the moment!
Quiet day here. DF has a major case of the grumps, both girls are miserable - taking both back to the Doctor tomorrow (and Tilly is having her jabs) and has been pouring with rain here all day. I so wanted to get out for a walk or something. Going around to a friends soon to take her cot back (which we borrowed), but don't really want to get it wet transferring it - but baked her cookies - so have to take them around regardless.
Waves to all.

I'm going to be brag-a-mummy too Ryan doesn't reallydo words except mama dada nana poh (as in poos) and boob and something that sounds like i say oh crap to much and he does woof when he sees a dog. Before we left he would say 'Uh' which was 'uh oh' and then while we were away he started 'uh oh' and since friday he's been saying 'ohhh noooo'. He's started spining round in circles standing up and of corse gets very dizzy then he falls over. He can get up and down off the couch, he learnt that in Italy. and is now fully attactched to his dummy, whihc means weaning him back off again. That's about it really. LOL at my IL goss, its not too bad. MIL pissed me off the most constantly mothering Dh and Ryan. Bits that pissed me off most was when we'd be going out I'd ask DH if Ry would need a jersey or more than one nappy and he's be like nah and MIL would say you better so of dh would tot doing what mummy says. And when we were at Lauterbrunnen, Ryan was pushing his pram around a courtyard and a wheel got stuck so he got mad, fell backwards and the pram fell on him. He grased the back of his head and it was bleeding and MIL was like its just a graze he'lll be fine, and was laughing for the rest f the week cause Ry got anrgy at his pram. When we were in Geneva we stayed at this self contained flat where we had to cook our own meals, DH and I had gone out and got all this food to cook tea, and when I started cooking MIL busted in and took over and it turned out realy yuck. AND the SIL god I could never spend a day with her let alone a week. SHe is so selfish and annoying, she got mad when Ry woke her up at like 8 in the morning and went on at me all the time cause I don't let ryan eat chocolate and lollies. and if we went out in the car with her we arent allowed to talk or cough or fart of anything cause she'll tell us to shut up. I swear that'll be Ryan's next phrase. First day of DH back at work and me with the boy by myself. So far so good. Today I have changed the sheets on our bed, made 2 batches of biscuits, cleaned the bathroom done 3 loads of washing (and dryering cause it's still pissisting down) stacked and unpacked the dishwasher and generally tidyed the whole house, ooh and done the vege's for tea Don't ever let your sister 'house-sit'. My plants are dead, there's rotton carrots and apples in the fridge and the toilet hadn't been cleaned since we left. Does anyone know about a bottle brand called BEBE we got a free bottle and dummy on the plane that I don't think we'll use I might try give it away on TM or somethng. 2 weeks til I get my Phil and teds. YAY!!

I completely understand your reference to Ekatahuna (sp) as well, I loved all of Europe . but then again I didnt stay in little hick towns in hotels from murder mysteries lol
I'm completely ready for Elias to be a late or non talker .. Isabelle is such a chatterbox, I doubt he will get a word in edge ways anyway!

Jeepers creepers, it's C-O-L-D! I can't feel my nose - and that's with the heater on full, it's so cold the heater just can't cope!
Sending get well vibes to Kye, Tilly and Georgia
LOL at the MIL/SIL antics SB, I bet you're glad to have your baby back to yourself and not being second-guessed every five mins.
Lil miss (monster?) didn't have a day sleep again today . Renata put her down and she performed for 1/2 hour so she gave in and got her up. She was a right royal grouchalotamus when I put her down at 7pm too, I hope her ears aren't playing up again... She's settled now after Pamol and more booby milk.

hi girls...I'm going to be lazy with no personals and be all about me me me (but i promise I'll come back tomorrow and catch up properly!)
Nat's had a mild tummy bug but for the first time ever (pretty much) has been off her food, so has been eating hardly anything, and subsequently waking at 5am because she's hungry (but then won't eat anything after a few mouthfuls ), so DH and I are rather tired to say the least!
However, in typical Natalie form, every time she's really unwell, she's been in a great mood and a pleasure to look after (minus the lack of food intake!). Her carer was unwell today and unable to look after her, so for the first time ever, DH got to look after her for a whole day all by himself! It all went very well though, so yay! and i think he has a slightly better insight into why the carpets aren't vacuumed that often and why the house is generally a pigsty
I've also been trying to do some arty stuff - just sme basic painting on canvas, but seeing as I'm soon going to face the dilemma of wanting to keep Nat in care (even just a few hours a week) between me finishing teaching at uni, and hopefully starting the grad dip next year, I need to come up with some kind of money making scheme, and I figure I can paint pictures or do some printmaking faster than I can knit.....and hopefully someone will buy stuff on trademe!
anyway, that's the me me me stuff for tonight. hope all the sick mummies and babies have a good night! (and wrap up warm seeing as it's freeeezing outside)

Ohhhh totally agree on the coldness!! Had to chuck on my merino top today and we've had the heater on all day. My friend who was driving to Wellington yesterday had to drive through and hour and a half of snow - and luckily they just got through before the road was closed . Had the heater on in the nursery tonight before the girls went down too. Only thing good thing about cold weather... comfort food - made DF and I a nice meal of Pumpkin Risotto and had a glass of wine while watching TV. :)
Oh SB - pity about the Inlaws etc trouble. You can't choose your family!
You poor poppet Kye. I really hope you are feeling better soon hun. Rug up warm tonight sweetie and sending healthy cyber vibes!
LOL lilfatty on you last comment about wanting Elias to be a late talker! Funny that Georgia is a real chatterbox too - and now Matilda has found the only way to get a word in is to clench her fists together and scream as loud as she can! And she goes bright red. It is quite funny!
Hope Little Miss' ears are not playing up Emma. Pity she didn't have a day sleep again. Here's hoping for tomorrow!
Sorry to hear about Nat's tummy bug Blondy! Hope she is feeling better soon. And you manage to get her to eat some more.
Well both the girls are booked in at the doctor tomorrow. Georgia started complaining of a sore tummy this afternoon to DF and then to me tonight. She wouldn't let me touch it either. So glad we are off to the Doc so can get it checked! Matilda went down and then was up again within 15 mins, screaming.... damn teething to blame. Can still hear someone couching in the nursery too

Oooh...sounds chilly in NZ. Pretty damned cold here too and also yucky and wet. Not sure yet but I think I might not go outside today.
Thank you so much for telling me babycare costs... I think I might have offered too little and offended my sister. OK - so that's my fault. But her horrible email back to me I thoght was not helpful. So I am now looking into other daycare options. I really hope we can sort something out....but daycare through the hospital is subsidised and long hours so its another option if I can get in.
Just a little worried that my sis will blow everything out of the water every time someting goes wrong - not sure I will be able to cope with it But then I suppose I must take some responsibility too.
Read your post on FB Rach - and am very worried about that 2yr old. Poor kid and parents...
Good to hear Amelie is making those steps! And Hayden is so cute! Ll Miss is a clever wee mite. Logan is now obsessed with his shoooos. I think its because he moooos when asked the noise a cow makes.
Started some multi-viamins for both of us because we have been sick a few days and (probably coincidentally) am feeling loads better but Kye - made me think of you - its SOOOO ANNOYING being sick!
Looking forward to seeing the results of your artistic pursuits Blondy.
Righto...better get a move on.

Thanks Hayzie. Let's hope so!
Sorry to hear you've been sick - but glad that you are feeling a bit better. Very tricky about your sister and the daycare thing - hope you manage to gt things sorted in a friendly way Not nice about her email.
yeah I read Rach's post too - and feel so bad about that missing 2 yr old. So terrible - considering this turn in cold weather too. God I hope they find her, safe and well - and soon!

Wow a whole day of no posts - how freaky!!!
Hayden has a cold and is pretty , thankfully last night he only woke once and was happy with a drink of water and a cuddle and went back to sleep (I didnt really but that's my own fault) til 7am. The night before he was up from 1.30am to 3.30am and then again at 4.30am and 5.30am so I got bugger all sleep that night but DH stayed home yesterday and did the morning duty so I could sleep - so I'm feeling the DH love a bit more this week
A friend is going to lend me all 4 of the Twilight books, wonder if I'll finish them this year ha ha.
Hmmmm got lots of cleaning that has to be done today and I cant be faffed, its this stoopid rain all I want to do is huddle on the couch with the telly on and a hot drink n cookies
Happy to report was under the 80kg mark yesterday, not by much but I've lost weight 4 weeks in a row now so gotta keep up the momentum... speaking of which now Hayden has nodded off for his nap I must go cross train my toosh
I'm still hoping that little girl in Auckland is found safe and well but its looking less likely as the hours go by, so very sad

Well done on the weight loss KK!! This rain is not good for the spirit! And I probably should be on a diet cos junk food + foul mood = misery!!
I kinda blame DH for opening the MASSiVE tin of quality street chocs... I meant for him to bring them back for Xmas! But he goes off to work and leaves me with temptation!!!
Also - he has gone away for a week again. And given we were supposed to be in Malta this week...
Right - I found it freaky there were no posts this morning too - thought maybe it was all the rubbish I post so I held off!
Sorry Hayden has a cold....was it Logan's fault? He has been coughing through the night...
Oh - and I can sympathise with the cleaning problem - this apartment is a stye and I just still have no motivation.
But to end on a positive note - my brother has a job interview on Friday and I am really hoping he is successful - he needs the boost more than me!
