Topic: loquats Posted: 28 October 2006 at 8:30pm |
Okay, may be this is pretty random. Have just discovered we have a huge fruitful loquat tree (as in just discovered what the fruit is, not just found the tree). anyway, have noidea what to do with them . I've googled it, but some of the recipes seem a little weird. can anyone recommend what i can do with loquats~!!!!!
BTW - in gisorne everyone has citruis trees and to be it is a travesty to see all the fruit lying on the ground - hence me wanting to do SOMETHING with my loquats

it's ornage, kinda plum shaped with three biggish pips in the middle. tastes quite nice actually, but as I said, tree laden with them - and I did have to google to find out what it was.

to me, kinda like a citrusy apricot. the jam tastes of a mix of apricots and apples. they are a yellow-orange colour, apricot size, with pips in the middle - large ones - between one and four. i'll have to take a pic
