Mine are like Fionas too.  I have just started getting them.....bloody pregnancy!  I had 2 yesterday.  Thankfully I dont get a bad headache.  As soon as I get the visual aura I take panadol.  But they are weird things...especially when you cant talk properly afterwards....so frustrating.

Did anyone find they got more/less with a pregnancy?  My mum suffers badly with them so I am not suprised to get them but hers went away when she was pregnant and mine have started

I get them quite badly (used to get one every day when I was a teen and almost failed School C cos I couldn't go to school enough). Mine often make me end up in bed. I can't eat, open my eyes, talk, every little movement is just a nightmare.

I take Nadolol which is a beta-blocker for them. Used to take 3 (and will have to when I go back to work full-time) but at the mo only have to take 1 during the day.

Hmm reading all this reminds me of how i felt yesterday
It started in my temples, then moved in behind my eyes where it stayed all day and then when i got home from work, the lights were irritating me.. I took two nurophen which did nothing for me.. I went to bed and my eyes were shutting from the pain, it was so bad.. went to sleep and woke up with a residual headache but its bearable today..

How odd...

nzpiper I got one a week (or more) for the first trimester and then none until after birth. Mine are very much hormone related.
