Hi all,
Thanks for your messages of support. I'm currently at melbourne airport waiting for my flight.

I contacted my midwife who told me to go get a scan and doctor's advice before travelling. As weird luck would have it, my friend who I was staying with put out her back so we both trotted down to the ED together. I felt horrible as I was laughing out our collective misfortune.

That wasn't my only 'haha' moment, my nurse was an Israeli who said, 'oh you from New Zealand? I hear they have very good weed' which was such a bizzare comment that it kept me smirking for the rest of my visit. Which I think freaked out the rest of the medical team who were suprised how calm I was.

Scan confirmed a loss at 8 weeks. The doctor's weren't entirely happy to let me go (I had to sign my life away) but I am still not bleeding heavily and to be honest I just want to be home.

In the meantime the midwife has been in touch with a local ob and organized everything that needs to be organized for sometime tomorrow.

Thanks for everything.

It's weird I should feel that my heart is broken into a thousand pieces of a baby I wasn't entirely happy about conceiving. The only solace I take is at least I have no trouble with the getting pregnant part of the procreation process.

Someday ,hopefully not long from now, I'll be holding a new child in my arms and the pieces of my heart will be put back together again. Except for that one piece that will be reserved for what might have been.

Sorry for your loss hun. I had a D&N as well and although the experience itself was terrible the hospital staff and care was great. But I guess it depends on where you have it and who cares for you.

My thoughts are with you

The D&C is scheduled for tomorrow. I feels so lucky to have DP who was waiting with roses and big hugs at the airport and had cleaned up the house before I came home.

But life keeps going. We have our home assessment for the child custody DP next Friday so I need to pull myself together quite quickly for that.
