it's funny DH and i were talking about SS last night.....it should perhaps be on at 8pm because of the murder, language and bed hopping that goes on although i guess it's up to the parents to turn it off if the kids are still up and watching it |

I'm inclined to agree, I've been letting Maya watch it but the Gerald sex scenes and the language are making me wonder if it's really appropriate. Problem is I'll never hear the end of it if I stop letting her watch it now.

I'm glad C is usually in bed so she doesn't get to see it, but in saying that I work with all guys (so can be a bit of a potty mouth LOL) and DH is a mechanic and even we are shocked at what goes on!
 It's got too inappropriate for 7pm |

Yeah, we watch The Simpsons instead. Not much better but at least the adult content is over their head.

I multi-task.  We lie in my bed and I read to Michaela while watching shortland street, she's so busy paying attention to her story that I think she misses what goes on in the show but having said that I'd be all for them moving it to a more age-appropriate time and if I do think Michaela's watching the show with it's R18 content I'll stop watching it.

I remember not being allowed to watch it, I can't remember how old I was but I'm guessing around 8 or something.

Funny, DH and I were talking about how racy SS has got these days! Its not like it use to be. I would be inclined to stop watching if I had kids around as its pretty full on in some places at times.
Not cool about the sl*g word tho, Bizzy. Did he get the meaning and context right when repeating it?
