Dal I put on 13kgs, I've still got 9kgs to loose before I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight!
I think the averge is between 11 and 15 kgs for memory (I could be wrong, but its around those figures)!
Good luck ttc, I say keep ttc and enjoy your freedom whie it lasts

I had put on 8kg by 28 weeks, my m/w didn't weigh and I don't have scales so don't know what I was at the end but i'm guessing that I probably put about 12-15kg on. I weighed myself at the docs when Spencer was 3 months and was back to my pre preggy weight exactly. (might have been back to that quicker but like I say don't own scales).
Also meant to say that I would keep TTC it could take months and if it doesn't i'm sure you (and your friend) will be far to happy to worry about missing a season of netball.

Everyone keeps saying keep TTC because it might take a while, but you're still young. Even if you're not preg in the next 2 years (and I hope that's not the case for you and hubby), you'll still only be 26 - plenty of time to get on your way to a specialist!
I actually lost 6 kg in the first trimester, not due to morning sickness either because I didn't once throw up! I put on about 8ish, going from my pre-preg weight, not including that 6kg loss, so around 14. I don't know about that magic weight just dropping off after the baby is born. Don't believe that, you might be disappointed when you get to that stage like I was hahaha

Keep TTC, lose weight and play netball at the same time!
Don't do what we did and postpone TTC for silly reasons, it took us 2 years to finally get our BFP!
Keep up the BD!

ok cause we are an honest bunch here - this is my opinion (and only mine)
Is there really a right time to have ababy? I mean yup there is but there is always something thats coming up or happening etc.... even if you wait out the netball season between the next one and this one you have approx 2 months to get pregnant before the season is upon us and you have had the baby.. well actually either way you will miss out on this season or next (or when ever you decide and get pregnant)
So what you need to decide is - not what month you want to have bubs but what year you wanna and willing to miss out on netball...
Now I know it wasn't all about netball there was the weigh - BFing bubs and losing weight is a miff and only the lucky ones that happens to. I am not over weight but still found it hard to lose weigh after Rhyley. So don't rely on that as your weigh lose plan. You can lose weigh whilst pregnant - natural way - lots of walking/exercise and a good diet but of cause you won;t see that via scales cause you have a bubs inside you. depends what weight you are now - i have heard the bigger you are the less weigh you need to put on in pregnancy (of cause always an exception to the rule)
good luck in whatever you choose to do....and for the record what would 'I' choose to do if 'I' was 'YOU' - sounds like 'you' (I mean I LOL) are keen on the doing the netball game so you might like to have this season with netball before TTC (you could always practise )

Ive thought long and hard about it - and the netball thing is not a worry now, I guess I was just using that as an excuse because deep down my HUGE concern is the weight thing, like it really is a big concern.
Im quite down about my weight at the moment so Im thinking what am I going to be like when I am actually pregnant

Maybe you could try & lose some weight first before TTC since it is a big worry to you. You could give yourself a set period of time to do so e.g. 3 months & see where your weight is at then. The fact is that you will gain more weight during pregnancy & this may be concerning for you. Pregnancy is not a time for unnecessary worry or stress
You just don't know how your body will cope with pregnancy until you are pregnant. Maybe I'm "lucky" but I have lost all the weight (14kg) I gained during pregnancy & it's not as if I've been terribly active.
I agree with Ann, there is never a right time to fall pregnant but maybe if you have some doubts then the time isn't quite right yet. You're still young so you shouldn't be hearing the old biological clock ticking too loudly in your ear
Best of luck for whatever you decide.

ok well thing is YOU will put some weigh on whilst pregnant and it maybe hard to lose it after having baby - but if you are good with your diet and exercise during pregnancy then you will not put on as much 'fat' and more just baby - so once baby out - bang goes the weight

I would ttc now. You really do never know how long it will take, I have a friend online who has been trying for over a year now,and she's only 23 It's sad to watch her having to go through it, but at least they found out young.
As for the weight thing, it really depends on whats important to you, and , in the nicest way possible, how realistic that weightloss is. I have way more than 20kg to lose, but I'm not waiting. I've been struggling with weight my whole life so for me it's not like I'm suddenly going to get to my goal and start living my life, I have to do it now.

Dal, I would TTC! Hehe, but how long have I been asking you when you're going to start?!
I put on between 20-25kgs with Jackson, lost all but 9kg in the first couple of weeks, and the 9kg that I have left is pretty much from eating a block of chocolate a week during pg! So if you're good about your diet, you won't gain too much. Plus preggy ladies look great with big bellies, it's definitely different to being 'fat' I've found.

I'd go for it, if my hockey team is anything playing winter sport is a guarantee you'll conceive we've lost so many team members who started the season and got preggers during, maybe the exercise and fitness increases your chances, helps to lose weight as well so you get both benefits. Good luck.

As with the majority, I would say keep TTC!
Also, keep playing netball and doing some other kind of exercise in the meantime before you get pregnant, the healthier your body is, the more likely you are to conceive and have a healthy pregnancy.
I definately would be wanting to shift some weight before pregnancy if I needed to - it'll make you feel better about yourself and keep yourself focussed on something else rather than TTC (TTC can start to take over your life otherwise, trust me, I know!). Having another goal (i.e. to lose 10kg before getting pregnant) is another positive thing for you and your DH to work at together!
Good luck chicky! Remember, all of our comments are just our personal (and not professional) advice, go and talk to your doctor who will give you some professional advice too!
