Hi guys,

hoping some one can help, my Mum's 50th is coming up and my Dad wants a personalised gift done for her...he was thinking a pretty plate with her pic in middle and our wishes written on it typa thing!

I have no idea who does those....any ideas?

I know digitalmax do Mugs but only mugs and the mugs are sooo plain!!

Also can you give us any other ideas? Thanks a bunch

Snapfish have a few different things you could check out. I recetly got a mug done for DH with a whole collage of his girls on it. They do a finer style mug aswell.

I went to a wedding recently where the 'guest book' was a big cardboard photo frame, with a gorgeous photo of the couple in the middle, and all the guests wrote messages on the cardboard frame. I thought it was really neat.

we were at a 1st b'day a while ago and they had a photo frame there which was designed to be written on, all the guest wrote a message for the birthday boy. It was a great momento

Some trophy engravers do these awesome glass-art things, where an image is set (engraved somehow) in the middle of a block of glass - they can even set an image of a photo of people in there (monotone, obviously, as it's white-on-clear IYKWIM). The photos turned out really nicely. I have to admit my fascination is largely based on the 'how on earth did they do that...?' factor.

Its a bubble portrait thingie....my parents got one done in Madam Tusos (sp??) in London few months back....I was thinking of getting that but now thats out! ...I love those!

For our first wedding anniversary I got DH a newspaper from the day he was born, it came in a frame but they have them in folders and stuff as well. I got it shipped from UK and it wasn't that expensive but someone in NZ might sell old papers from here. This is the english website, they have papers going back a 100yrs.
