I was going to hold one of these when I was pregnant with Aidan, but since Ive had him already my question is...
 Can I still have one?

I didn't have one with Bailey and was really looking forward to it!

 Trish

Trish, a friend of mine had her baby shower after she had her first as she didn't know what she was having and wanted thing for the sex of the baby. I found it a lot easier to get her something that way, and we got to met him as well.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

You could always have a baby shower in the sense of welcome home Aidan, either just before (like a usual baby shower is just before birth) or soon after you do get him home if you want to show him off to everyone.

Perhaps even tie it in with the date he would have been born? :)

I totally agree....no reason not to hold a celebration of some kind - whether it is called a shower or not. He deserves to be celebrated!!!

I found this on another site too - someone asked the same question for a baby of a friend of theirs and they wanted to host a shower and werent sure whether to or not or if it was too late...
 answer -

"No, it is not too late.
What if it was an oveseas adoption and it took six months of paperwork and travel?
What if it was a set of quintuplets born four weeks premature and kept in the hospital for two months?
What if you were in a military marriage and you couldn't get home from Europe for a full year?
See? There are many good reasons for having a baby shower based on your schedule, and not on a set time frame before or after birth.
The only thing you must be sure to do, is to have the invitations clearly state when the baby was born - so people who might want to buy clothes don't buy too small."

Trish ours is going to state no newborn clothing cause one she is set up already and too she is likely to be too big for it...same possibly for Aidan when he comes home? also can a friend or family member host it for you - i cant imagine you need the stress of people calling and asking what you want / need etc...and someone else could then do that for you..im using my mum to do that job and guide people....

Yes of course you can and we have decided to have a baby shower BBQ as its Ivans baby to and i dont see why he should have to miss out just because its labled as a girly thing so we have decided on a BBQ and inviting everyone rather than just girls why should it be just girls ? its for the baby rather than the mum anyways and well Aidan is still to come home and your friends would love the opertunity to pamper you at this stage im sure !!

Go for it ill be there

I never had one with Haleigh, but that was mainly because I was in a new town where I knew noone. I would love one this time round for this baby, they seem like so much fun.
