About a week ago Jack decided he didn't want his night time milk anymore he just wouldn't latch and would bite if I kept poking it in his face. So after 2 days of no success I stopped offering it. A few days later he started refusing one side in the morning and yesterday he refused both sides

I this him weaning himself or should I keep offering? Hes not really interested in milk from a cup either. Although he has youghurt for lunch, some cheese snacks and milk with his cereal so he should be OK for dairy.

Its so sad that he doesn't want it anymore as I thought we would continue for a bit longer.

One more question the boob he rejected first has gone all lumpy and sore. Its not hard or leaking or anything its just a bit tender and is all lumpy is this normal?

What Bombshell said is true (about taste), same for when you have AF...

Anyway it sounds like he has decided no more mummy-milk for Jack! His calcium intake looks fine to me. Cold milos are a good way to introduce other flavour milks

As for your breast, I think it is the build up of milk with sudden weaning. You should be able to express the top of it off, once, either with a hand pump or in the shower, and that should settle it down for you after that. (It's pretty common with weaning.)

I bf Jaz until she was 16 months, she was down to one feed in the morning by then and wasn't that interested so stopped. I was 4 months pregnant at the time so that probably effected the milks taste. She wasn't interested in milk from a cup either so had to give her calcium through cheese, yoghurts, ice cream, custard and porridge (in the winter months) or cereal. Didn't experience lumpy sore boobs though, that I can remember of, maybe you could ask your MW?

although i wasn't breast feeding my other two at 1 bith mine weaned themselves around then from the bottle. so could be that you are Preg and the fact that he is weaning. as for boobs as someone else said I would express a little each time the feed normally takes place and then every second day cut out one of the times until you you have cut out all of them.. this is what I had to do when changing to bottle with the other two. Make your breast make less milk each time.
