Contact Trademe directly and change your feedback to negative in the mean time. Usually you can change it once. We've been d*cked around by people on there before and after checking their profile have found that they are still buying and selling other items just fine!!

That sucks, I would contact Trademe and see what they advise, I'm sure you're not the first person to get stung. I doubt the bank would let you reverse the transfer.

Yeah she would have the money out by now, ANZ transfers go through over night and they can't just take money out of her account. Talk to trade me

sorry to say but i dont think trademe will do much but tell you should have waited until you had the ph back before refunding.
did you make sure the ph worked before you sent it?
a good place to ask would be on the tm message boards and ask under the forum titled - trademe me general.... not under the plain general forum.

You might be able to ask TM what they recommend to people in your situation, it's probably even under their FAQ? As for the transfer, sorry it can't be reversed

No, you can't reverse a transfer unless she agrees to it which I doubt she would.
I'd contact Trade Me and see if they can help. Have you got a phone number for her - I'm pretty sure you can ring Telecom and get it if you've got the address. She won't be able to avoid answering the phone forever even if she can ignore your emails.
To be honest I wouldn't bother with the police - don't think they'll bother to do much.
Best of luck.

Was it for the Telecom or Vodafone network if you have the serial number for the phone have them block the phone as it is now stolen you will have to report it at the local police station but either network can block the hand set from working i.e for Vodafone doesn't matter if they change the sim card phone will still not work.. But you will need the phone serial number

I hope you get your phone back. I can answer the bank one (as i work for a big bank)- and that is you can not reverse a transfer once the payment has gone into their account. The bank would have to get permission from the account holder - that would be the trader - to take the money and it would cost you around $15-$20 for the bank to trace it and refund. - if it was possible.

Hey there
Make sure that Trademe also refund you the success fee that they charge you as well, good luck luv, I've been there done that before too, got ripped off by a trader. Trademe ended up blacklisting the trader pretty smartly to stop them doing it again to others.

Gosh Im surprised you refunded her before receiving the phone back ...
I definately wouldnt have! (And some people have tried to get me too) ... but if I had bought something at a shop and wanted a refund, I would have to return the product before getting a refund, so I dont see why some TM people think they can get a refund before returning the goods!

Nope you can't do that. I used to work for 018 and we used to have so many people try and do this. It is impossible to do a search on the address alone, we need the surname of the person who has the account in their name.
I would get her to check her bank records, if she is a student then she will have internet banking. If she is continuing to say that she never got the money then find out from your bank if it went in. If they say it did you can tell them that she is saying "it hasn't" and then see what they can do for you.
