yeah, jake has been to mcdonalds twice in his life (both times with my dad - i can't stand it), doesn't watch regular tv so misses the adverts, and yet knows that big yellow M "look it's old macdonalds mum!"
Joey doesn't know what it's called, he just yells out CHICKEN! when we drive past ROFL - and that's because on the rare occasion we go there he gets chicken nuggets NOT because he thinks it's a chicken... my child's a genius you know!!
He can sing along to the Warehouse ad though "where everyone gets a Bargain!" but my DH (German - spoke hardly a word of English when we moved here 3 years ago) knew that ad first too! Must be catchy.
Jack knows mcdonalds too whenever we go to get in the car he asks for donalds. The good thing about it is that he doesn't actually know the difference between mcdonalds and his sammies so I just give him sammies and call them mcdonalds.
Love the article Annie. It's great to see people publicly admitting that their kids watch tv (and their brains haven't fizzled as a result!).
Michaela doesn't recognise Mc'Ds or anything like that yet (I can't eat most takeaways so my family doesn't get to either) but everytime we walk or drive past a park, or anything that looks remotely like it might be a park (grass reserve, cemetry - whatever), she yells out PA-PARK!!
