I just wanted to brag that i have nearly finished making SIL's ball dress, totally not my style of dress but that is probably because i am no where near skinny enough to wear it.

I knew there must be a brag/gloat thread around somewhere.
I'm just going to have a big gloat - not that anything in particular has happened I just feel like it.
I'm very happy with me and my life, I'm confident in my abilities as a mother and partner and in myself as a person. My partner is awesome, more than awesome - I'm pretty smug that I have someone like him. I almost never complain about him, he does everything perfect (and no we aren't in the honeymoon period, we've been together for almost 8 years ). Jude is the smartest, brightest, bestest and most cruisy baby ever. I'm not biased at all My family is wicked and we are all super close (parents, siblings, grandparents etc).
I think all of this a lot - isn't it awesome when you don't doubt yourself too often and don't have complaints or regrets about many things?

Oh I want to brag about DS... he has started to role play... its so cute.
He has a little fisher price telephone and he has started picking up the receiver and "chatting" into it! If we say "ring, ring" he finds the phone and picks it up and chats and sometimes hands it to us to talk too!
Awwee, my little guy is growing up!

I had my 6yr olds parent teacher interview before hols and found out my son is a disrupter and sits with the teacher a lot. not a naughty one just wont stick to task and then distracts others from their work etc
But yesterday he came home to say he not only finished his fab story about his uncles coming to stay in the hols but he was the 1st one finished!!!!!
very proud to say the least so he got to pick an after dinner treat from the supermarket (a jelly tip)
I started him on fish oil to help concentration but only a week ago so doubt they would be working that quick

I was driving home today , with my 8 year old daughter, and a song came on "big girls don't cry " by Fergie , and it made me cry , not just because of pregnancy hormones and being tired, but cos that was the song my darling friend listened to ALL the time before she died, and it reminds me of being at her house .
, Caitlyn noticed my tears as I was singing along , and she put her hand on mine and said "I know this song reminds you of N mum , its ok , sometimes big girls DO cry "
I feel so blessed and blown away that I've raised such a compassionate amazing child .

awwwww Kelly what a sweet thing of your wee girl to say
I am going to brag that i have Just survived the first year of being a mummy without any huge hiccups.... just judder bumps along the way .
I am also going to brag that my Partner is AWESOME!!! i love him to Bits , I love the fact that he helps me out sooo much with Amelia , he has Taken on the role of her daddy and he treats her just like he does his own daughter, as i said in a previous forrum tonight i feel guilty about not providing Amelia with a "natural " father but when i think about it my current partner is a million times the man Amelias real dad is . i am very lucky to have such a wonderful man in my life .

In the last few months Jude has learnt, among other things, to clap, wave, pucker up and lean in for kisses and he signs "finished" and "milk". He loves playing chase- giggles, shrieks and gallops around the floor and then turns around and heads straight for the chaser. He's so clever

ohhh those are the two things im focusing on "finished and milk"
ive been signing milk since my baby was 3months old, hes now 7months, but not had a sign back yet and now hes on solids im using that time to sign finished...... altho i think my sign for finished is actually the sign for dirty.......well he is dirty when hes finished lunch....lol
When did he first sign back? and did you notice straight away?

He signed finished first and has been doing that one for a while - it's the one we are most consistent with. He started doing it perhaps nine and a half months? But only after we asked him if he had finished while doing the sign. For the last couple of weeks though he has been doing it by himself without prompting. Milk is only very recent. Perhaps a week or so. He also does "eat" sometimes as well but it's hard to tell whether he is doing the sign or whether he is just putting his fingers to his mouth naturally when he is hungry. So I don't quite count that one yet. The next one we are introducing is bath or wash because he loves having a bath! Hopefully it gets easier to be consistent with them now he is signing back!

Jude has been using a spoon and fork himself for ages and ages but yesterday and today I noticed that he ate his whole bowl of porridge without using his hands at all - just his spoon. Even tilts the bowl to get the last bits out. Minimal mess, none on the floor at all. Clever boy.
