My boys hair ...his fringe to be exact. I always wanted to grow his hair and leave it as long as possible but the fringe is now going into his eyes, I can easily comb it to the side but it flicks back after a while and makes him look like he's a 60's kid. For obvious reasons I can't use pins to clip it back off his face lol

So do I cut? I won't touch the sides or back of his hair ...just the fringe...and how do I cut it? Best just to go straight across?

I know I'm being silly, I just don't want to goof it up

Bubs hair is really fine, there are strands going in his eyes - photo just doesn't pick it up

I might wait till he's down for his nap though, don't like my chances of him staying still...

Yeah maybe I should just trim the longer strands of hair, tbh theres only a couple that are really going into his eyes. It's all diff lengths.

Poor boy has inherited my whispy thin hair, I REALLY wanna grow his hair though, getting cute light curls at the back

He's so cuuuuuuuuuuute

I know what you mean re growing their hair.... Joshua has longer hair too, with gorgeous curls. I hate it when I have to get his hair cut and his curls aren't so curly for a few days.

I've recently trimmed Daniels fringe because it was going in his eyes, I only took 1/2 a cm off it, and didn't cut in a straight line so you can't really tell it's been done. Daniels was worse than what it looks like in that photo too

I did Josh's as it was annoying him and well below his eyes. It took a while to do as I didn't want to get a straight cut .

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

If its in his eyes I would cut it - I did a short trim with RHyley all the time... what you do is grab the fringe - twist it till you got a little bit left at the top and snip that little bit off - it looks better than the straight across cut (which can go wonky anyhow)

LMAO gremlins are still follicularly challenged [:p

His fringe looks OK to me. I've never been brave enough to cut my kids hair myself, even if it's just a trim I get the hairdresser to do it.

Alyssa was having the same problem with just a few strands getting really long and in her eyes (and sticking to her snotty nose ) so I just cut the long bits and you wouldn't even know I'd done it.

I kept the little bits I cut off and stuck them in her book as well.

Just do the few strands that are getting in his eyes, then as the other hair catches up it will start to look a bit thicker.

Do you have a programme/video that he watches that gets his attention? You will only need a few miniutes, give him something to eat that he really enjoys, a favourite toy or even a comb like the one you will have in your hand.  Cut it dry at this stage (its eaiser to blow off his face if it gets away on you).  You have 3 choices of how to cut it, hold the hair between your 1st and 2nd fingers with the back of your hand being almost flat on his forehead then cut to desired length.  This is the easyist way if you are wanting to keep the hair as you can catch it in your hand as you cut it. The 2nd way is to just comb it down and just the edge of the sicssors against his forehead & just cut to deisired length, this works ok if he will stay still for you.  The 3rd is like Emma said - hairdresser, most wont even charge just to trim up a fringe

Good luck
