A friend of the family's 13 month old son got his first tooth the other week. When it came up it had a brown spot on it. She took him to the doctors and he said it was from all the antibotics and pamol he had been on.
He had had a lot of ear infections and colds e.t.c

This sounded weird to me anyone had a simaliar experience???

My dentist to this day is still shocked how great my teeth are considering I spent the first 10 years of my life on antibiotics.

Prolonged use of antibiotics is known to bad for your teeth.

My sister has shockingly stained teeth too, she's epileptic and apparently some of the drugs she was on as a baby made her teeth that way.

Slightly OT too, but the gremlins first teeth came thru with white marks on them and the Plunket nurse said it could be from ME taking antibiotics when I was pregnant (which I did) and that their second teeth should be fine.

My daughter Natasha has Hypo plastic teeth meaning they came through with patches of the enamel missing so look brown and can be soft and crumbly.

I have been told it could be from medication, she has taken heaps of antibiotics and been on steroids for 8 years.

But I have also been told that high fevers or illness can cause it as the body when fighting sickness sometimes shuts certain things down like making teeth.
