Help! Westinghouse or Fisher & Paykel?

I always go for fisher and paykel as I trust the brand. I had heard that the westinghouse fridges and washing machines are noiser but not sure on the cheat freezer.

I would go with F&P.

I forgot about F&P moving - to Turkey, it was. Think we'll go with the Westinghouse, might be better for servicing later on if necessary.

i love F&P. but i think i would be more worried about the energy rating of both of them. Not a huge difference in space

Yes you do need an air gap around appliances, is normally about 10mm (will tell you in the instructions which the shop normally have on display with the display model). It might also say to not put it next to another appliance, but personally I don't think it would matter next to a dishwasher as its not like you run that all day so not the same as sticking next to another freezer etc. You just need to make sure there is enough room for the heat to disapate.
Yeah energy efficiency is a big factor when say looking at a washing machine or a tumble dryer but with fridges/freezers were the usage is over a year it doesn't make a huge difference, like you say $30 bucks a year is not really worth worrying about. Is interesting that a bigger freezer is more energy efficient though.
I don't think F & P are any better than most other brands, they actually just seem to be extremely expensive for no particular reason. I think mostly they are so popular and well thought of because they are an NZ company and not because they are actually better. I also wouldn't worry about them now being made off shore as they will still source components from the same place is just the actual assembly that is being done somewhere else.

Personal opinion, but for $50 bucks more I would get the bigger freezer. You will get that money back from the energy efficiency as well.

We always go foe F&P here too I just trust them and it's my parents have always had without any probs.
