Topic: comforters in cot Posted: 15 February 2008 at 9:33am |
Eva loves to suck on bits of fabric like her muslin's. However, I always take them off her before putting her to bed, as I'm paranoid they'll end up on her face and she won't be able to breath.
At what age did people put snuggle rugs and comforters in their babies cot?

I gave Sam a cuddly rug/toy to take to bed at around 5 months. She sometimes will suck on it, but more likely to just curl up with it and go to sleep.

Kates had her cuski in with her since she was about 4 months. She falls asleep with it over her face all the time! Its breathable though so its safe

We gave her a bear toy when Gina moved to her cot - at around 5 months old I think. Mind you we have an Angel care monitor so I rest assured knowing that if anything was to happen, the alarm would go off

Ollie sucks on a muslin as well, I dont worry about him taking it to bed with him as its breathable so if he puts it in his face it doesnt matter. I normally take it off him once he is asleep.

Ella goes to sleep with a taggie- started giving it to her when she was 6 months. Sometimes she sleeps with it, other time she plays with it when she wakes up or just before she goes to sleep. Sometimes when I go in check on her she has it over her face...but everytime I have checked it isn't over her mouth and if I am worried I just move it.

I was going to say the same thing.
Brenna has had a woollen blanket from day 1 that she wont sleep without (even through the hot summer months) and she gets all wrapped up in it and is fine

Luke sleeps with a muslin cloth, used to wrap him in one when he was little and at 3 months stopped wrapping hima and now he just sleeps with it as a comfort. Like everyone said it's muslin so it breaths. Luke often has it up near his face loves the feeling of it i guess.

Jake has had a soft toy and cuddle blankie since about 6 months - I gave him the soft toy first so he seems more attached to that ... although I was planning to get rid of it so he just has the blankie, but haven't yet cos I don't know how he'll react!

Thanks for the advice. I feel much better about leaving her muslin in her bed now. It's cute to hear about all the things that get taken to bed!
