My little guy is 7months and he is a really good eater. Today at lunch I gave him 5 rasberries, a slice of bread (small slice gluten free) and lady finger banana. He get a fair amount into him by himself but I"m just wondering should I still be spoon feeding him food?
I was thinking about maybe making his lunch just up of finger foods and then breakfast and dinner giving him cereal and mashed vege/meat.
I know he is still little but if he manages I don't want to just get used to me doing all the feeding for him.
Sorry this turned out to be a long post. I hope you understand.

If he's not seeming hungry, then probably not. What's he taking for breakfast and dinner?
Daniel is spoon fed breakfast, semi spoon fed lunch and feeds himself tea. The main reason I spoon feed lunch is to get his meat and vege into him, but I'm going to do some meatballs and meat he can hold himself. He's going through a really independent phase where he wants to feed himself, so the spoon isn't popular! Dinner is corn fritters or mousetraps with a banana.
Also a long response, but he's at a similar age to your wee one so it might give you an idea of what we're doing.

That sounds like a good plan. I think we did a similar thing with Dominic and when he got to that really independant stage Daniel is at I gave him some things he could eat himself and then quickly got a spoonful of dinner in between each mouthful.

Yeah I am giving him fruit and baby rice for breakfast then at dinner he gets babyrice mixed with only a tiny bit of fruit. So lunch time is when he gets into he really exciting foods including meats.
I am a bit nervous to let him feed himself his last solid meal of the day as I have only just got him sleeping through the night and I fear that if he doesn't get a GOOD meal then he might wake again.

If you give him FF or BF before bed, he'll take as much as he needs to fill his tummy.

Caden has a bottle first thing in the morning, and then is spoon fed his cereal, this morning he had some of my toast before his cereal aswell.
For lunch we do finger foods, he has bite size bits of bread with marmite(loves them) and banana, in either fingers or cubes, and he has some orange in his freshfood feeder, or some apple in the feeder.
For dinner, he is spoon fed his mashed pumpkin/kumara and carrot, and has pea's loose on his tray and he picks them up and feeds himself, he has meat 3 times a week usually, and then we spoon feed him his pudding, usually custard apple.
Then he has about 100mls of formula before bedtime.
Hope that helps :)
ETA-He also has around 3 or 4 bottles a day aswell, either before of after his food.
