Hahaha Craftea! That's hilarious! But funny cause my MIL offered the same thing - to take me to EC if DH couldn't make it - I was like ahhhhhh no. LOL Hmmm interesting on the text/call thing. Maybe I did put on a form somewhere that I didn't mind it by text? Oh well, I will chat to the doctor and nurses about my questions tomorrow. It's really just a, I'm worried my LP is going to be too short for this to work kind of thing. I took the day off today, housework day is usually Saturday's but thought if I had today to do it, then tomorrow I will be able to just rest and put my feet up BC sounds like a great weekend! And a very much needed one!

Yeah my MIl is great.
Have they mentioned starting you on the pessaries Storm? I think that's how they prevent any luteal phase things - cos with a manufactured cycle they kinda choose when ov happens (except it doesn't happen) so your normal Lp isn't part of the equation.

Yeah the spotting thing freaks me out (the thought of it) too JMM - why does it happen does anyone know?
Great idea taking the day off Storm. Always nice to have a clean and tidy house to come home to. Saturday's usually my day too but did it Wednesday since we're going away. Wish I could fit it in during the week more often!

Same BC! Craftea no they haven't mentioned doing pessaries. Think the plan this time was to go all natural - we did the whole manufactured cycle last time, and guess my doc wanted to try something different this time ? I'll see what they say tomorrow about possibly going on them? I think cause I tend to have long cycles they don't think it's much of an issue that my surge was so late

From reading about it I think it's just a withdrawal thing...
A quick question, I'm assuming we stay with FA till 12 weeks right? I'm meeting a midwife on Monday just so I don't miss out on one I want but the letter I received with my scan time only said early monitoring I.e the blood tests and an 8 week scan. I hope I'm still with them till 12 weeks! Surely I must be...guess I have to ask at the scan

Will be interesting to see what they say. Think they would have mentioned them by now if you were going to take them. My first natural FET I got very confused as I did have to take the pessaries....but they said the natural referred to ovulation and then got even more confused when my next FET I didn't have to take any pessaries cos apparently I made enough progesterone myself. Guess we kinda have to trust that the know what they're doing!

From the information I got yesterday in the post JMM basically once that first scan is deemed ok they sign you off and you graduate to being a 'normal' pregnant person lol. I guess though with the pessaries they might stay involved a bit longer???

Hmmmm they are awful things but I feel like I should maybe go on them seeing how my surge was so late. Guess we'll see tomorrow.
JMM2B my understanding too is the early monitoring is till 7/8 weeks - maybe it's then handed over to midwife?

Storm - I don't see why a late surge would make any difference. When you ovulate, the cyst that the eggs hatches from forms the corpus luteum, and that is what causes you to then produce progesterone. They last for around 12-14 days, regardless of when your body actually ovulated. After that time if they get hcg signals they remain and produce progesterone for the first 12 weeks, otherwise they break down and you get AF. My guess is the stress of all the blood tests is why you ovulated much later than normal, but that doesn't mean the ovulation wasn't perfect :) Also, I'm sure they do a blood test after the LH surge to see that the LH is going down again (so they have pinpointed surge correctly), and that the progesterone is also starting to increase :)
One other thing that occurred to me - I've noticed they often transfer day 5 embies on day 4 after ov. I'm guessing it's because when you defrost the embies they can take a bit of time to start dividing again, plus often a few cells get damaged (which just get replaced as long as you have 50% good ones left) - so while the embie was a day 5 going into the freezer, it probably ends up being a bit behind a normal day 5 at the end of things hence putting it back at day 4 instead.

That's right Storm - you have to notify them of who your midwife is so that when the baby is born they can follow up and gather information for their records.

Thanks for the info mushroom! And that really does make sense now, re the 5 day embryo going back on day 4. I did wonder too if the scratch I had the month before affected my OV timing this time round. Really is hard to know huh! Such a world of knowledge on here though

Jmm they should keep the pessaries coming until you no longer need them. They posted me some to keep me going at least until my scan.

We were told after the second scan at 8.5 weeks that we were just like any other pregnant person, and didn't need to go back to FA... They just gave instructions on when to continue and then stop the pessaries, progynova and aspirin I was taking. Great news about your embies! Hope they continue to do what they're meant too!
