Twin Buggys

I would recommend shooting yourself now - it will save you a lot of frustration

Seriously tho, knowing what I know now about twin buggies if I had an older bub and a newborn I would definitely go for a front and back one like the Phil and Teds. I have a Babylove Duolite Perri (http://www.babylove.com.au/Productdetail.asp?RecordTotal=6&RecordID=3&categoryid=1&subcategoryid=3&productid=122) and it is 'supposedly' narrow enough to fit thru doorways, which is the biggest sales pitch lie ever coz it doesn't. It fits thru 'external' doors, if you're lucky. The Mountain Buggy twin is the same size.

That said, it does depend what you are going to use it for. If it's for walking etc. then go for it, I love mine coz it is light, comfy for the girls, and copes with any terrain. But if it's for shopping, visiting etc. then it's a bad idea coz you will spend more time getting the kids in and out of it when it doesn't fit inside places. I have a Childcare Lunar twin umbrella stroller that lives in my car for shopping, the Baby Love rarely goes in the car unless I am meeting Toni to go walking

Another idea if you're keen on the Phil and Teds but worry about #1 not being old enough to be sitting up all the time you could always use a sling/baby carrier for bubs and put #1 in the stroller, then add the toddler seat later on when bubs is a bit bigger and #1 is older and awake most of the time in the stroller. If I ever have another baby it will live in the sling. I love mine. It's just a bugger that I can't put both gremlins in it at the same time (and yes, I have tried )

Sorry, long rambly post, but strollers/buggies were the source of much frustration when I was pregnant!

i have an older IGC - it is not a side by side. the back reclines completely flat and makes into a bassinet type thing and the front reclines slightly. i found tho that gabriel could still sleep in it if he wanted but he generally didnt. (he was 18mths old too). the front has a removeable tray and sunshade and a great under basket. i got mine from trade me. i found i didnt need the double buggy for too long so you might be better off getting a second hand one. or considering a sling for baby and sticking with the single.

where do you find the tandem buggies?
I have seen some on trade me but always seem to lose on them.
my girls 19months and still sleeps in her pram, everytime we go out walking she falls asleep. she falls asleep anywhere these days if shes tired.

some have them some don't our baby city ordered it  in for me and we are just paying a small amount off a week as they don't have a time limit as long as money is going on and by the time bubs is born we will have it cost us $800

To have it in the two toddlers configeration (buggy seat upright, toddler seat underneath) the baby has to be about 4 months old. However, you can have the buggy seat flat and the toddler seat on top (rather than underneath) for a newborn/toddler. You get the newborn in and out through the back.

I'm supposed to be buying my friend's one which has the baby thingie at the back - so I'm not sure whether or not to buy it now as I will need to use it straight away when the baby is here to get around the compound.

Did you use the back part for the baby from newborn?
