Has anyone else had this? Apparently it's from tiredness.. well it's been going on for about 4 days now and it's a pain! Chemist told me it was normal when I went in there to get something else.. is it??

twitchy eyes are often when you are tired but if your vision is blurred you should get it checked out with your optometrist just to make sure it is nothing serious. It probably isnt, it could be that that eye has an uncorrected prescription that you can usually compensate for but when you get tired it plays up so you may not need glasses but do get blurry vision checked.

The twitchy eye thing is just a nerve spasm. Makes me think about rabbit's twitchy noses lol.
I've been getting something happen randomly over the last few months. It's like I can blurrily see a tiny black insect on my eye/eyelash but I can't focus on it cause moving my eye towards it moves it the same distance away! Weird.

I get that quite a bit, have you tried a warm flannel on your eyes to relax the muscles? I get it the most when I have been on the computer late at night.

Its called a floater. The back of your eye is filled with a jelly (vitreous humour to be exact) and as the eye ages that jelly breaks down and moves around more and casts a shadow on your vision. That is what you see, the shadow. As you move your eye around you shake it up and thats why you can never quite "catch" the floater. You also tend to notice them against a white background (eg the ceiling) or the sky. You also notice them more when you are tired...dont really have a good reason for that other than we are less tolerant then?????
Basically they are normal. The only time you should worry about floaters is if you suddenly got a large one and you got flashing lights associated with it (flashes indicate it is tuggin on your retina and that could lead to a tear which could cause a detachment) or if you got a whole heap of little ones that you hadnt had before as that could indicate something like an inflammation inside your eye. Or if it was following a hit to the eye/ head. Any of these situations require you to see your optometrist / eye specialist ASAP (we would try and fit you in same day if poss as it is better to be safe than sorry)
Hope this helps.

I used to get twitchy eye, it can be a sign that your body is low on Magnesium so I started taking Mg supplement and went away.

Hehehe, I get " floaters" all the time. Yes I am talking about the eyes (amongst other things). I play with the eye floaters, trying to catch them. I've found I can change their shape by making my eyes look in a certain direction. I like the little spiraly ones best. They seem to react better. Sometimes I flick my eyes up then down and I can see them zoom past upwards. My ones aren't really black though...they are more clear. They look like this, but only the parts in the center of each blob. Some of them are in strings, and little one off dots.

Weird males! *ducks for cover*
Thanks Piper for that info. I noticed it mostly in the month before my vertigo (loose crystal) so I thought it might be related to that. Presumably it's not exactly related but the crystal loose thing can be encouraged by exhaustion.... so I guess it's just another exhaustion signal I've got to watch for.

Well I went to see the doctor just to be sure and she thinks it is related to hayfever.. I have noticed itchy eyes/nose a bit lately so it could be linked. I've got some eye drops to put in so I'll see how it goes.
