I had that - I went to get a new feeding bra when Rowan was about 4 months old and the shop assistant was telling me that it might be better to wait until my milk came in and I'm bigger in the belly now than I was then.

My DH and I were thinking about doing a little rewards chart where we list out a whole lot of things we want - cheapest to most expensive. And every time we both lose a kg we get to buy the thing that corresponds to that weight. (so if we gain it again we have to lose even more to get to the next thing)

I find the harder you make things the less you going to do it - so don't complicate what you decide to do -if you can't get out for a walk - get a tredmill - if you get what i mean

Awwww... I really feel for you Italiah.
Ive been there, and I know how you feel. I was a size 14 before I had Janaya, and ended up a size 18. I didnt even notice the weight packing on and it didnt really bother me, until one day my aunt sent me some pics of me and Janaya on the beach and I looked disgusting
I managed to lose a wopping 30 something kilos and got to a size 8, that was about 5 years ago and Ive had some up and down weight gains/losses over the years, but I promised I would not go back to that size again.

The best thing to do (in my opinion) is start SMALL. Just start with something like a healthy breakfast every morning, and a small 20 min walk every day and commit to it, then increase things slowly. Walk no matter how you are feeling. I found I was always making exuses, and if you force yourself to do it every day it does become routine.

I think you are looking GORGEOUS by the way

Thanks Kaiz, you are such a sweetie!  Even if I don't believe that myself, it's nice to hear it.  So how on earth did you lose 30 kgs?  I wanna know your secret!

I love all these ideas you guys are throwing at me.  And you all have the similar idea to me, which is start small.  I've wanted to lose weight in the past, and gone full steam ahead, only to run out of puff after a couple of weeks!  My goal is to lose 5 kgs, and get back into the 80'skg mark (and never let myself get back into over 90 kgs again!!), then once I'm down below 90, get to 85 etc.  I'd love to be 70 kgs or sz 12 by Sept (as that's when it's our 10th wedding anniversary and I want to look great again for that time) .  I'm happy with that, and am not concerned about getting smaller than that.  Sometimes when people get obsessed with losing weight, it gets rediculous and they end up too skinny!

Awww, big hugs to you

I know what its like to carry too much weight. I'm quite a small person in bone structure/height so when I put on weight it is really noticeable. My optimum weight for my height is about 55kg, and I was that weight til about 21. Then at uni I ballooned to about 74kgs. I lost it all by doing WW and LOTS of exercise (to the point of obsession), then moved to London, got even skinnier and was about 49kg. Then when I came back to NZ I've managed to become a yo-yo with my weight. Got up to 80kg when pregnant, went down to 60 after Josh was born, and have fluctuated between 60 and 70 since then. Right now I'm in the lower 60's, but think thats cos of all the stress of separation etc.

All I can say is you will be able to do it sweets. A little at a time, remembering that you are a beautiful woman who has a hubby who thinks you are beautiful too. Eat well - lots of fresh fruit, lean meat, good carbs etc, walk a lot, play with your kids.... before you know it you'll be feeling amazing

Awwww poor you Italiah! I was reading your post and feel the same!

I too was asked the other day, "So, when is the big day"... I felt like running out of the shop, but said, not pregnant, just overweight. The lady went bright red.

I am going back to WW tomorrow. Starting fresh.

I am a size 22, but have been creeping up to a size 24, that is when I had a look at myself and knew that things had to stop. I carry it all on my stomach.

It is such a hard road to loose weight, but cutting down a little each day helps.

Yeah I definitely felt once I had to start buying sz 18 I was loosing the plot and needed to pull the reins in with my weight.  I have a big tummy still, and it's so hard to buy comfortable clothes that don't excentuate the big tummy!  I hate it with a passion!  I'd never have thought I'd let myself, nor easily get this big, ever.  I find myself looking at skinny people in the shops all the time and soo soo wish I could be skinny like them and wearing those nice clothes!  (and by those "nice" clothes I mean shorts and singlet!!)

But you girls are soo encouraging I know I can do it this time, and slowly but surely get this weight off and look great again!!

I started off doing weight watchers, got the books then just learnt a bit about food. I personally think weight watchers is the best way to go, because you can "earn" points by going for walks, and you can go out for tea and save your points up.
Once I started the weight just started dropping off, and the more that dropped, the more excited I got. I started off at 87kgs or something like that, and got to 56kgs in the end My first goal was 80, then 70, and then i just wanted to be able to say I was "60 something kilos". Then the weight just didnt STOP coming off

I just promised myself I would "move" everyday. Sometimes I would turn the music on really loud and just dance non-stop with Janaya (curtains closed!!!) other times we'd get out for a walk. You just need lots of variety to keep everything interesting. Same with food.
Just start off with swapping full fat milk to light milk, white bread to wholegrain, your morning snack to an apple and some sakata crackers, and just keep removing the junk slowly.

I have my old fatty photos on my computer just to remind me of how I was. Cause it was BAD lol.

We already buy wheatmeal or wholegrain bread, and light blue milk, but I could change that to trim.  I've always been a snacky eater, and eat bad snacks, so I need to change that.  And to make water my main source of liquid, not juice and coke.  It definintely makes you feel better when you have a cold glass of water over a sugery juice or fizzy drink.  I just love my sweet food!

You and me both hun. I was going to go back to WW here but decided that I have the books so need to do it myself.

Just before my wedding I took some pills to help lose the fluid that I had hanging on me (the dr worked that out for me) and I lost a good 10kgs in a few weeks. I am looking at either getting them again to start me off or get something like Xnical that I know works as well (it is expensive thou) as I have seen results on it.

I wouldn't mind shedding about 20 odd kgs this year and get down to a size 12 (I am a good 16 at the moment).

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
