Ok, so my tongue has been really sore for a few weeks now. It had just started getting better and today it is really bad again. At first I thought I had burnt it, or maybe bitten it but looking at it again it looks almost red and blistery and more like an ulcer??

It is so painful, I am struggling to eat and I cant talk properly. If I eat certain foods (like chocolate) I am almost in tears cos it hurst so much.
Has anyone ever had this before? Could it really be an ulcer? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Winge winge winge moan moan moan!!

Ouch
DH had a mouth full of these a fortnight ago (random viral thing). Before he could get to the pharmacy he just put some of Hannah's Bonjela on them. It eased the pain a little in the meantime.
Have you got any on hand?

But pop yourself down to the pharmacy tomorrow, they'll sort you out

I use to get ulcers alot and sometimes alot of them all at once on my tongue and they hurt like #@*%! The natural things that worked for me was drinking black tea and also putting the tea bag on them, I like black tea so that was a bonus, but it really did help make them go away. Also there is a product called Kenalog which is great but you cant eat for awhile after using it as it is a paste that goes over the ulcer but it really does help them go away.

I really really second the Kenalog recommendation - it is AMAZING. I get ulcers when I'm stressed or run-down (they get really big too, and yep are very painful!), Kenalog gets rid of them real quick. It's kind of a gritty paste that you put on. It's in a tiny tube but it lasts for aaagggeesss cos you don't need much at all.

I get ulcers too and gosh they hurt. I find putting salt or marmite on them gets rid of them pretty quickly. It hurts so bad and will make you dribble a lot but it really helps.

I had one on my tongue once and I can sympathise as it blimmin hurt! The only prob is that it is kinda hard to put ointments on your tongue, Bonjela did numb it for a while though.
