I'm so sorry.

There is a m/c section and Mum2Paris (Janine) recently posted her story in there (and a few others besides).

Well I'm about ready to strangle some doctors and demand serious investigations to find out just what the heck is going on with me. My hcg has come down to 17, from 28 a week ago - not typical of a m/c. According to the doc, the scan is indeterminate. An ectopic cannot be ruled out. An internal was painful. So next step, an urgent appt with a gyn first thing tomorrow morning.

Fair enough. Personally I wouldn't want a D&C based on a Doctor's assumption

What is typical of hcg with m/c? I know it's supposed to drop but I don't know the numbers. At a guess I would have said what you said sounds about right

Apparently it's supposed to drop quickly...whereas I went down 1 over the space of 2 days, then 10 over the space of 5 days...I dunno much anymore!! I just know that to date, I've been bleeding for over 2 weeks, and something needs to be done...because no-one can say why.

Oh Kate, that's awfull!

All the best for tomorrow morning!

I've always said, and I'll say again, that there's a reason they call it the medical practice!!

I agree ginger - I just wish rather than keep testing for the same thing, they'd look to see what is actually wrong instead of maybe this, or maybe that.

DF is just as frustrated as I am, although the thing he is most concerned about (being a man and all) is when we can have sex again, as the doctor told me not to have sex cos if it is a miscarriage, semen can cause an infection in the uterus while it's healing. So all he wants to know is when he can get some action again!!! And thinks I'm being too soft and should get angry with the doctors to get some action....whereas I'm just not that sort of person.

Mini - I hope your DF is as concerned about your physical and emotional well-being as he is about having sex.

Well, have had my appt with the gyn, have been given a tablet or two to move things along, they're 99% sure it's a miscarriage. Then I have my cervical treatment and a laparoscopy on 16 July. My hcg results are still at 20 (they went up in the last 2 days) but yeah. At least now we know.

Sorry to hear of your loss, I guess now you can get your treatment, and on the plus side at you know you can conceive. Look after yourself and be gentle with your body.

Minik8e,

Im sorry to hear that all is not well. At least now you know relatively what is going on. It can be so frustrating not knowing. I know this wont help you feel any better, and you will work thru it in your own time, but I guess this is my ham-footed way of saying Im thinking of you.

Take care hun!
