I was throwing up 3-5 times a day for the first and most of the second trimester lol. So I ate virtually nothing! Mostly just plain cracks, plain cooked speghetti, apples and I lived off of V8 tropical vege juice. My doc said I would be fine as long as I kept up plenty of fluids and my supplements. When I did start eating again I found I had too much baby in there to leave much room for food so rather than eat meals I'd snack all day long. Really though my diet didn't change much. I never got weird cravings nor did I ever feel super hungry.

F'n shocking, on the edge of disordered, couldnt have been worse

I dont think i'd sat down for a meal in about 6 months previous to getting pregnant. I'd eat less then 500cal a day, not intentionally, but i'd only ever nibble at a piece of carrot or a piece of celery as i was cooking (i'm a chef). On top of that i was working 12 - 14hr days standing and never had a break. The only time i sat down in that time was to inhale 2 ciggarettes in a row and then back to it.

Even when i found out i was pregnant (and quit smoking straight away with a massive effort) i struggled to eat normally for about three months. The whole notion of taking a plate, taking some food and sitting to eat was so weird to me.

Because of my job - as a chef in a large hotel - my meals are often staff dining. Think everyone lining up with a plate and helping themselves from big containers of food.

My diet was pretty balanced, lots of fresh veges and lean meat/chicken/fish and made a concious effort to have healthy dinners, low fat dairy, wholegrain bread, nuts, porridge or wholegrain cereal etc etc not too many carbs eg pasta. But in saying that we did have takeaways maybe once a week and the occasional chocolate or lollies or whatever on a Saturday night. So a combination of being good and indulging sometimes. I have never been good at drinking water or eating much fruit as I only like grapes and bananas but I try my best.

Since Ive been pregnant it's been much the same, except that I eat more lol I try to eat more of the right things but don't always succeed. And everything tastes so much better to me now. All you can ever do is your best I guess!

was TOTALLY shocking and I seriously don't know how I survived?! Coffee and cigarette for breakfast, coffee and cigarette for morning tea (maybe a sausage roll if I had time to scoff it down), I didn't have lunch till 1 and that was either hot chips, Tuna on toast or whatever was handy and easy to put together...most of the time it was junky/greasy food . We hardly had fruit and veg in the house and I didn't drink water. I was soooo worried when I found out I was pregnant because I didn't know till I was 8 weeks along I thought I did some serious damage because that was also the 'festive season' and there were a LOT of drinkkies going on! Boy! Did my diet change as soon as I found out! It wasn't so hard to change knowing I was doing it for my baby....hahaha strange I wouldn't do it for myself?!
