So i've only just found out that im pregnant (im about 4wks) and aside from the fact that im always tired, my boobs are heavy and sore and i dont have my period, I dont feel pregnant! It's bizzare, im over the moon and really hope all goes well cause i cant wait to meet the lil nugget but I just dont feel pregnant.
Did anyone else feel the same around this time? I just find this really weird. Im not feeling sick or anything yet either. I think my sense of smell has gotten abit stronger though haha.

This is my first pregnancy by the way (obviously).
I'd be interested to hear everyones stories...

Hi Victoria, congrats on your pregnancy, hope it goes really well for you

my 1st trimester has been pretty uneventful. Had a bit of nausea in the beginning but quickly discovered that eating made it go away so if I feel the slightest wave of nausea now I just nibble on a cracker or something and feel better instantly.
I haven't had any scans yet so can't be sure it's all going well, but my belly sure is growing and I haven't had a period in 3months or so, so that's got to be a good sign
And I'm sure I'm not even as tired this time, must be having a toddler to distract me hehe.

Good luck with everything!

I think that tiredness, sore boobs and missing period are the most definite signs!

I think you don't really feel that 'pregnant' in the first trimester because you don't get big or have any outwardly significant body changes. With DD i didn't even realise i was pregnant till i was 8 weeks gone!

Its totally normal to not feel pregnant at 4 weeks Most symptoms dont start until 6 weeks+

For me, I never got sore boobs, I just felt soooo tired and with my son(1st baby) the morning sickness started at bang on 6 weeks, and with my daughter, it started at about 7 weeks.

I also started getting headaches after 6 weeks for the first trimester.

Congrats and good luck

Congratulations!!

For my first pregnancy I was extremely tired, sore boobs (it hurt to move!), headaches, and almost every other preg symptom except naseua from about 5dpo.
Second pregnancy which ended in a miscarriage I had extreme morning sickness.
This pregnancy the only symptom I had was mild morning sickness and tiredness. I didn't really feel pregnant.

Yeah, totally normal as Shez said not to feel anything til 6 weeks, with my first I felt symptoms (Morning sickness ) from 6 weeks, with my second from 6 weeks (just nausea really) and with my 3rd I got to about 8 weeks, thought "haha !sucker, no MS for me this time" and then I started the running to the loo the next day .
You will feel pregnant soon enough , never fear

I started getting a bump at around 7 weeks too. Though my boobs were incredibly sore before i'd even missed a period, i was convinced i was prego long before it was time to test.

But...i have to admit, the night before my first scan at 12weeks i was awake and so nervous they would scan me and nothing would be there - that it had all been a mistake and i was just getting fat. I didnt really click in to 'being pregnant' until about a month ago . Even before my 20 week scan i was still worried that i wasnt really pregnant. Sounds mental, i know.

Congratulations

LOL, I'm 38 weeks and still not convinced I'm PG!

Each PG was different for me.

At 4 weeks -
PG1 - hungry, sore boobs, metallic taste in mouth.
PG2 - nauseous, tired +++, stressed. Never got sore boobs or metallic taste in mouth.

That doesn't sound mental at all! I sometimes have small thoughts like that. Have heard a few horror stories too, Best not to think about that tho huh?

Im hoping that i dont get morning sickness at all. Boy will I be gloating about that if I dont haha

Thanks for all the comments everyone, makes me feel slightly more relieved to hear that what i am experiancing is actually normal.
I've never spoken to anyone i know about what they felt like this early on because half the time they are either trying to hide it, didn't realise the were pregnant this early or cant remember and the books dont tell you about anything like this either so cheers everyone

4 week is still early, you have plenty of time to get more symptoms

Like you i was very tired from early in pregnancy, this didnt stop until about 28 weeks. I would sleep from 7pm-630am every day. I wouldnt even wake up at all in that whole time.

I also had very bad morning sickness, which could have been why i was so tired.

For me it didnt really sink in that i was pregnant until over 20 weeks. I mean of cource i knew but i just didnt feel attached, its kind of hard to explain.

When my morning sickness stopped, which wasnt for long. I started enjoying my pregnancy alot more.

Congrats & wishing you a safe & healthy pregnancy

Congrats on your pregnancy!

I am currently 25 weeks pregnant with my first and I was surprised, over-the-moon and in a little disbelief to find out that I was pregnant (I have had ovarian cancer and had an ovary removed, we'd been trying for a long time with no luck).

I was sent for a 6 week scan but because you really can't see anything (a grain of rice maybe, as least they told me it was there somewhere . . .) I was still not feeling as if I was really pregnant.

It was not until my 12 week scan that I actually started to be convinced that it was actually true and there really was a new life growing in me.

My only real signs of pregnancy during my first trimester was the EXTREME tiredness. I'm working full time and so would get home and basically fall asleep the minute my bottom hit the couch, for about and hour or so, and then eat and be ready for sleep again shortly after.
(without wanting to gloat. . .I did manage to completely avoid the dreaded nausea, thank goodness!)

Good luck!

I am totally the same! Maybe I'll feel more pregnant after the 20 week scan next week?

Congratulations Victoria, and as the others have said it is totally normal to not feel pregnant. Even with the nauseau (no throwing up thankfully!), tiredness, sore boobs and the loss of my waist in my first trimester, I still didn't (and still don't) feel pregnant. In fact, sometimes I feel like a bit of a fraud when I tell people I'm pregnant

When I was in the first trimester it felt like it was going so slowly, but now I look back and see that it went by so quick!

My first trimester was super easy, I found out right away when I missed my period. No morning sickness at all (apparently my mum never had it either) had lots of energy and felt very normal. I did have a pretty obvious bump at about 4 weeks. Now going on 18 weeks, I felt more tired in the 2nd trimester, still no morning sickness, no cravings and I can eat anything I want. Hopefully it'll just be as easy all the way through

I had a bit of morning sickness, tiredness, etc from about 6 weeks, but didn't emotionally feel pregnant until the scan at 12/13 weeks. I just found it hard to really believe that there was anything in there until I saw my baby moving around and heard his heartbeat. Even then I was always waiting for the next milestone as proof (growing bump, first movements, anatomy scan etc... it's all so exciting!!!).
Congrats on your pregnancy!!! And enjoy the ride! FX you avoid the MS

Congratulations on your pregnancy

I was really rough for my first trimester the sickness started at about 5 weeks for me but its more common not to appear until week 6-8... i also had really sore boobs and the metalic taste in my mouth that just wouldn't go away... I am now on week 29 so am in my 3rd trimester i feel better but am still suffering with ms although its much much better..also in my first trimester i could only drink water as i went off all hot drinks and all cold flavoured drinks and couldn't even look at ham with out being sick ...

That said though in my first pregnancy i pretty much just sailed through it and didn't have much at all in the way of symptoms
