my 19 day old son has extremely bad days where he cant settle becouse of all his wind...
can anyone give me tips on ways to help bring up his wind...
i bought some gripe water which only works sometimes...

I found putting Kaleb down on his tummy for a few minutes after a feed helped bring up any burps DH or I couldn't get up ourselves.

Weleda Baby Colic Powder worked for Ashlee and her wind (you can get it at pharmacies and health shops). We used gripe water too, and tried Infacol.
It does get better

one of the important things is working out whats the best way for your son to bring it up, some babies bring it up easier if you rub their back, others on their tummy, some even on their chests, with my daughter i (held her head steady of course) and kind of did a quick jiggle with her on my knee.

Yeah, I find the jiggle, jiggle up and down whilst patting Bella's back (over my shoulder) works a treat  , but she's not a very windy baby.

Aparently a cranial osteopath? is great for wind and other probs... bit expensive though!
We used gripe water or plain boiled water for our boys and did ALOT of patting on the back! LOL

We used/use patting and rubbing back whilst sitting up, putting chest down across knees and patting (this would often stop screaming so he must have found it comforting) and last but not least laying him face up on my legs and pumping his legs up to his chest (this did cause him to spill up sometimes as well, but he is a very spilly baby). Now he is a bit older I normally put him on his tummy on his playmat on a towel and normally he will bring up anything that patting his back hasn't on his own now.
Oh and one last way, putting over your shoulder and patting/rubbing back. (be sure to put a towel or something over your shoulder first though) Sometimes walking around whilst getting his wind up seemed to help keep him a bit calmer.

Because he's so windy, maybe you could try an osteopath or chiropractor (don't worry, they are very gentle on babies).
Depending on your labour, he could have some wee 'problem' which means he has trouble with his wind. They may be able to 'fix' it with one treatment.
Apparently babies/small children respond very well and don't need a lot of 'work' done on them to help things along.
I had Amelia to a chiropractor when she was about 2 weeks old as she wouldn't BF well at all .. 2 days later she was right as rain. And I've heard other, positive stories about osteopaths as well (we've since been for another prob she had)

Yeah we have been taking Spencer to the chiropractor since he was 2 weeks old, we went cos he was breech and delivered by c/s which can cause problems. He asked if we had any colic problems, and when we had a constipation problem he was able to give him an adjustment to help

We tried all of the above to some success. In the end my diet was the thing tthat had to change - I cut out onion, broccoli, beans and cabbage and within a couple off days the improvement was huge. if it continues and none of the above do it, might be worth a shot.

I was taught two ways when Briona had reflux. For both, you hold the baby while you stand up, with their back to your chest. (1) Hold baby around/over the chest/under the arms and put your other arms across his legs so that his body is straight. (2) Hold his thighs, one in each hand and rotate them in bicycle motion.
Hope you find a way to settle him soon.
