They said it would go away but they will keep an eye on it. It's fluid build-up from before he was born so nothing too terrible to worry about.

Hi everyone
Well I went to Plunket family centre today to get some help with Kaleb's feeding. They told me that a warmed bottle of formula needs to be used/thrown after 30mins. My MW had told me one hour and sometimes with him taking 75mins I'd been using the same bottle
I had 30mins to give him his feed, then tummy time and time on his back until he grizzled and then straight into bed - and he slept!!! They told me that feeding anytime from 2 to 4 hours was ok so not to worry about how much he was taking (and the 2 feeds we had there today were less than one of his normal ones at home!) Although we went 3hours between feeds and only took 70ml so suggested I book him into doc just to check that all is well (we're going tomorrow am). Just feed him and he took 120ml so he'll probably be quite wakeful this evening not like his normal self just hope it doesn't affect overnight!
Also he's really constipated - he strained and strained before and only a tiny rock hard nugget came out poor wee lad! Hopefully will pass it in this nappy otherwise I'll have to try the water/sugar thing.
Kaleb is now 6.92kg and just over 63cm long. He's doubled his weight and grown 12cm since birth

yes that is good news Renee, so hopefully it all just goes away like Jacks did.
What is it with our babies and their lack of poos? Not that it is a problem with Jeremy now (major poo explosion here today and I mean major!). It seems so strange that so many of our babies have been constipated lately, I really hope Kaleb sorts his bottom out soon Kathryn. Fingers crossed that he sleeps for you tonight

Sam is pooing like a trooper again YAY.
Faraway, we switched to Karicare Gold+ and it's unbunged his tummy up really well. It's quite frothy and lighter than the other ones and mixes really easily. He also slept way better on it too!
Shame it's $21 on special!!

Well took Kaleb to doctors this morning and all appears well but Doc sent us off for a urine test and blood test anyway. Kaleb screamed when they pricked his heel and Mummy shed more than a couple of tears too
Still constipated but every nappy change we've he's been pushing and we can see the poo (sphincter opens wide) but he can't push it out and we can't scoop any of it. We've given him coloxyl drops in his formula so hopefully by tonight...
We've also switched to Karicare gold and i had noticed its much lighter and frothier so I have fingers crossed this one's ok! It is only $17 at Countdown this week so might stock up on a couple of tins since this was my last week of mat. pay.
Thankfully my Tweedle nappies arrived on Tuesday and the ones I have been waiting for 3.5 weeks for arrived today (less two which are on back order) so I'm pretty set for nappies - I counted up and i have 27 Plus the 2 more coming!
BTW Kaleb slept from 10.30 til 5.45 this morning so his sleep isn't that affected!

Aww Kathryn, you poor thing. I hated Sam's heel prick. She screamed like a banshee for the whole time!
Yay - Tweedles We love ours.
Well we had Plunket come yesterday and Sam is 5.52kg or 12lb 3oz. I wish they would measure her though because I don't think mine is accurate. I did ask but the lady didn't have a tape measure. She was nice enough though. She wrote in the book that I was such a good mummy, and commented on Sam's head control. She said we are good to go in a jolly jumper now if we want too - oops, does that mean I have to go shopping
Speaking of shopping. I fell into the Pumpkin Patch sale on Wednesday and spent $225 and then another $45 at JK. Oops Hubby was ok with it though because everything I bought was for the next few sizes. Even managed to get a few things in size 1 for next winter. I can't believe she is ever going to be that big though.
A little embarrassed to say I actually doubled up on an outfit. But am going to take it back and get it in the next size up.
Am going to the warehouse today to buy her the leapfrog for Xmas while it is on sale Have permission from DH, will spend money while I do

Hi everyone
I havent been on here for a while. How are all the little bubs today? Tamsyn is doing ok. She had her 6 week check up and jabs on Wednesday. She was 9lb born and is 11lb 2 oz now. It seems like everyones little ones are constipated at the momment. Tamsyn is bottle fed and has been constipated on and off since I changed her to the bottle 4 weeks ago. It hasnt been too bad up until the last few days which we have had lots of screaming when she is trying to push it out. Its sooo hard to watch I think watching her try to poo is way worse than when she had her jabs. I changed her formula yesturday to Karicare gold+ and im trying to give her a little water before her bottle so im hoping it will work. Hope everyone had a good night

Oh dear, I just looked at the tweedle site again. Bad idea as it so makes me want to spend, I am also so tempted to come up to Auckland purely to go get bobux. This not spending thing is going to be hard. I think that I will have to get into my sewing for Caleb very intently when we get home from holiday so I dont try buy more stuff.
On the plus side I only have to get a few little things for Caleb for christmas now and will get his Birthday present in October at the P&C show, provided it is on special again.
Sterryn I love Sam's flame nappy, it is so cute on her. I went into PP on Saturday after Botany meet up and was very restrained, I only bought a pair of the red velour overalls I had been coverting and they were discounted too . But then I went and got a couple more bibs from TnT and a little jacket (he needed it as didnt seem to have and jackets) and pjs from Farmers on sale. I am going to try and not spend for the next 10 days now so I have money to go on holiday with.
Yay that most of your nappies have arrived Kathryn. That is a fair number, are they a mixture of sizes or all the same?
Sounds like the Karicare gold is working a bit better on your boys, Renee and Kathryn. Here's hoping they stay un-bunged ( is that even a word) Here is hoping it works for your little girl too Julz.
Last night was a bit of a long one as we were up every 3 hours, I wish that 6 hour sleep would come back. Although he did managed to have a 3 hour nap and a 1 1/2 hour nap yesterday so day sleeps are a bit better. he is sleeping at the moment so might try get some more myself.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Hi everyone!
Yep, those cloth naps are so so so addictive. We also just got a new washing machine this week, so washing them is even more fun at the moment (I'm sure the novelty will wear off the washing soon).
I'm still waiting on my big order of cloth nappies though (have received 2 smaller orders so far), so only in them about 70% of the time. So frustrating! Maybe that's a good reason to go buy some more - to tide me over till the rest arrive!! Hehe.
The Karitane nurse came this morning and weighed Anton, and he's up to 6.54kg! Good little (or not so little) bubba!
Well, better go, he'll be waking up any minute...(I hear some noises)

We had some more action this morning but still not as much as he needs to get back to normal . Went to the doc again today just to recheck and he looks fine, blood and urine came back fine too so we'll just have to wait its course!
Julie - yeah quite a number - a mixture of small, medium and OSFA pockets and some medium AIOs. Whats bobux?
I just went to PP and spent some more money (i was in there on Friday and spent $53 on slippers, a tracksuit and lined jeans) - $99 to be exact BUT I got a hat, some jeans, a couple of bodysuits and some t-shirts (DH made me get some of them in next size and size 1).
I must take some photos of Kaleb is his printed nappies - he's got a blue flame Tweedle and looks so cute in it - check photo page soon (well actually tomorrow at earliest since its in the wash!)
Jo where are you waiting on nappies from? What brand?

Wow, how did that happen, Gwen?! No, really, I think I have forgotten how...hahaha. Congratulations!!!
Hehe, my other nappies arrived just after I posted before! I was waiting on some BumGenius - is that what you'd been waiting for too, Faraway?
They're all in the washing machine now, so we should be in cloth fulltime from tomorrow. I've managed to make my extra inserts too, so really only need to wait for the pockets to dry.
Now just got to finish making my cloth wipes! Got a few done already, but not quite there yet.
And I'm also looking forward to the next time I have to change his nappy while we are out because I haven't had a chance to use the cute wetbag I made!

Oh my Gwen. Congratulations though and here is hoping for a good next 8 months for you. You really are going to have your hands full, I hope it is just one for your sanity. Where are some more pics of your gorgeous little girls. I don't think we have seen any for a while.
I would love to see a pic of the blue flame nappy Kathryn. At the moment I am tossing up between the blue and the orange flames. Sooo cant decide.
Bobux are leather shoes that are meant to stay on babies feet and not be very easy for them to get off. Here is their website
YAY for the fulltime cloth finally Jo.
It is really windy here tonight and my little monkey wont go to sleep. So much for my early night.

WOW Gwen - congratulations! Are your girls identical twins or fraternal? (is that even what they're called?) Since only one of those types runs in the family... Here's hoping for your sake it is only one (yikes 3 under 18months!)
Jo yes I was waiting on some BumGenius and Mommy's Touch (they ran out of the Hautes I ordered). Still waiting on a yellow BG and the one Haute that they had so hopefully early this week.
Julie the nappy is drying as we speak so I'll take a photo shortly (I just need to remember my camera when I change Kaleb)
