Oh no, sorry to hear that Amellia. If i'd known you didn't have it booked i would've warned you. They've already bumped my scan back once but at least i'll get it at 21 weeks rather than 22.
I have had a cold too ladies - sucks that you can't take anything for it huh? And i found that lemon and honey drinks just made more phlegm, ewwww! Although I've found some relief in the NaturoPharm products from the chemist - the coughmed relief is working a treat for me at the moment.
Mybelly, my bump has just started really popping out over the weekend too (maybe in response to all the coughing and sneezing).
And we had our first kicks on Thursday evening (and it's been going strong ever since). They're not little flutters or bubbles as some would describe them though, mine are full on obvious little kicks - so strong even my husband can clearly feel them against his hand when he's holding my tummy! So maybe the IB disguised the first little flutters i would've had. I'm loving it, and hope everyone else out there gets to feel theirs real soon if they haven't already.
Must go, the workload has piled up since being away a couple of days with the cold.
Stay warm and well everyone.

Thats so exciting babyg!
I haven't felt anything obvious like that yet, just little flutters. I can't wait till my hubby can feel it though as sometimes it feels like baby and I are just having our own little party!
Has anyone brought anything yet? My hubby and I went to babystar in the weekend and bought a Phil and Ted sports buggy.
Hope everyone is feeling better soon.

hiyas,
I'm back, after my whinge last week about my cold it came on full boar on thursday! went to doc and got antibiotics prescribed, i held of for 2 days thinking that i could fight it myself, boy was i wrong. It went into my chest and now i have a pleghmy cough! the antibiotics are working though and my head doesn't feel like its gonna explode anymore.
I STILL don't have any kicks - i hate it cause then i start to worry that there is something wrong. Have ob appt next week though so should be able to hear the heartbeat then.
glad you got your scan booked in leem! sucks you have to wait so long! Mine is in 3 weeks and i can't wait.

Hi girls
Sorry to hear that most of you are sick! There is certainly a lot of it going around.
Leem I would be annoyed at having to wait until 22 weeks! Was it you who missed out on a 12 week scan as well?
I've got my scan next Monday (18th) - I have been excited about it, but had lunch with a friend today who is more excited about it than me - "Oh my God on Monday you are going to find out if you are having a girl or a boy!!". Then I kind of realised it too, and it is pretty out there! It will also be nice to have extra assurance that everything is normal etc.
Babyg how would you describe the kicks? I have had less of the fluttery movements, and am now feeling a few sort of "pulses" that I thought might be kicks? They are not anything that DP could feel.
I haven't bought anything yet (apart from clothes for me!). I want to buy handles for the drawers DP has stripped after we find out the sex (I've seen some v cute butterflies or aeroplanes). We've been given a cot and carseat, and Mum has quite a few clothes stashed away. We got the list from babystar and it seems quite daunting!

Hi ladies and bubs,
DJ - my kicks are obvious, i would describe them as sudden pressure on the inside (kind of like a big tick or flick i guess) and from the outside you can feel the little foot (or whatever it is) pushing against your hand. I haven't taken a look at my belly as it's happening (my hand is always covering the spot) so i'm not sure if you could see it pushing out but i'd say so considering it is felt with the hand so obviously. Last night I could actually feel it do entire sommersaults around my belly (along with the kicks) and that was quite weird, very hard to describe - i guess it was like a snake was swiftly slithering around in my belly!
Starting to get over my cold, pretty good - only lasted a week so that was ok. Hope everyone else is getting better too.
I've finally got some pics of me, will try to load them up now. They are taken 2 days ago, so at about 17.5 weeks.
Oh no, someone's going to have to tell me how to upload them i'm afraid. Do you just paste them into the reply somehow or do you have to upload them to the site first?

I know what you mean Rachael, my DH's paternal instinct has gone into overdrive since feeling baby's movements over the past week. He's gone totally gooey and watches over me like a hawk. I think he was starting to feel really left-out before that.
I was really lucky in that my sister (whose just finished having her babies) moved to oz recently and left me pretty much everything we needed for our little one including furniture, bedding, toys, clothes, safety equip so the only thing we need to buy is a buggy. I really love the Phil and Teds buggy too, so just gotta convince DH that the product is worth the price and i'll be grabbing one.
Good luck for your scan on Monday DJ. You'll have to write and tell us all about it. I think 'pulses' could be a good way to describe the kicks, but mine have been quite violent ones at that! Have you tried placing your hand very lightly on the 'pulse spot' for a while after it begins?

ditto!
I really like the look, narrowness, being able to put the seat flat and option of second seat, but my hubby had a look and decided that the construction looks way less sturdy than the mountain buggy and the mothers choice savanna that we looked at.
The MC was heaps cheaper and had a cover and sleeping bag included but I just hated the amount/thickness of material that they are made with. I just don't like it!
Hmmm, maybe I'll have another look at the mountain buggies...

Oh, no. I feel really bad now that I can feel loads and you guys can't, it's not as much fun when others can't join in.
I really can't wait for you guys to share in it with me, i'm sending out lots of positive thoughts for serious kicks all-round real soon.
This is my first pregnancy and i am very slight (sz 8-10) so maybe that has had something to do with it - or maybe i've just got a nasty violent, agressive baby in there who's never going to settle once it comes out!
And i know what you mean Rebecca, I've had so much IB that i was wondering if i'd ever feel anything other than serious stomach cramping and monster gas!
I do only feel bubs at night when i've been settled a while and only if i lie flat on my back in bed, sometimes it helps if i bend one knee to the side (bring foot up to mid-calf of other leg) - this seems to help push my baby to one side and away from tummy muscles?! I don't know about your bubs, but mine is lying really low down in the pelvis so i have to have my hands right down low on my belly to feel it on the outside.
Okay, here goes for those pics - don't know if this will work, wasn't sure how to save them as url. Got a little belly going on now.
