Take care Ev!
MyBelly and Becs it's good to hear that you guys are still smallish too. I was buying some pregnancy multivitamins the other day and the girl asked me if I was planning on getting pregnant... Admittedly, I was wearing a jacket that didn't make it obvious, but really!!

We always have too much chicken and hubby eats it cold from the fridge, nothing's happened to him. At least KFC is pressure cooked to high temperatures which is good, I've had it numerous times while pregnant. Oh and cottage cheese which counts as a soft cheese but all cheese in NZ is pasteurised so it's as safe as houses (my GP agrees). It's the non-pasteurised stuff from overseas that's dodgy.

im 29 1/2 weeks, 30wks on friday...
i am so trying to get it thru to my partner that a Changing Mat, to change baby ON THE FLOOR is more ideal than JUST USING A PILLOW...We were out looking at baby stuff today and when i suggested about getting a baby mat he goes "i dont see why we cant just use a pillow"??.. GGGGRRR!!!
A: Using a baby mat, if/when baby urinates on it, u can just wipe it up and wash that area with a damp cloth etc.....right?
B: When using a Pillow - its urine - not only will go thru the material of the actual pillow, but will go thru to the pillow stuffing and smell...
I think i either need to ignore that 2nd part, about what he menioned about just using a pillow and just buy one, or have a word to someone, eg a family member etc & ask them to get one for us....

A pillow would be a bit unstable too I would think. My hubby is surprisingly smart and has some good baby ideas.
Well considering my fundal height was at 30 weeks last Monday according to my midwife it's all a bit confusing. Will have to see what it's at next time I see her.

lol try telling that to my partner - about a pillow being unstable....I say to him, well try get it thru to him that a changing mattress would be more ideal and hes like "ohhh wotever"!!....and then i jiust end up fuming inside cos he doesnt see sense....lol Maybe my midwife might have more luck than me telling him wot im trying to knuckle thru to him...I dunno about his folks, when him and his sibblings were young babies, but my mum used a changing mat for me and my sibblings when we were babies..

We have a changing mat. The good thing about them is you can take them anywhere with you when you go out.

Go the little bellies!! (Big bellies are beautiful too )
Hey Ev. Take care of yourself and your bubs, no stressing allowed!! (I know easier said than done).
Hey Porcelina - yep, riding. I have a little belly and have been on a bike since I was little I made a few adjustments like bringing the handlebars up higher, biut its by far the quickest way to get to work, and no hills in the city!
I figure most of you have them already but I bought some belly bands off trademe and they should arrive today !!
I've been able to get away with just long tops/singlets so far, but none of my pants or skirts seem to be staying up where I want them and then the top rides up... I'm sure you all know all about it!!

Hi all, i'm less stressed out today. DH is away for work and i had a really good sleep with the bed all to myself (stretched out like a starfish!)
I manage different sized meals all the time, sometimes i can pig out and eat three servings in a go and then other lunches and dinnertimes i only manage half a decent portion - i reckon it seems to depend on how i'm feeling in general. Pain in the bum that it's not consistent tho - i will prepare a huge portion when i feel hungry and then only manage to eat a tiny bit before getting full and then the next meal i'll just prepare something small to save wastage and be starving afterwards, i don't know - strange!
Just a thought Becs - maybe the extra weight (not that you're big) is putting pressure on your pelvis and that combined with still riding a bike is causing your pains down low? Food for thought anyway.
Must go, am still busy. 4 more wks at work, woohoo!!

Hey Ev, not riding anymore, but good thinking. I had it from sitting down end of 1st trimester, so perhaps I just need a cushion on my chair!!

Pain "down low" is fairly normal as your pelvis where it meets in the front gets stretched out to accommodate baby.
My pre pregnancy jeans etc went out the window in the first trimester!!!
I won some flavoured vodka early on in pregnancy, I got feijoa and apple so I want to try that when I can!
Sunny day in Nelson of course .... I walked to the mechanics from work to pick up my car (the temp gauge HAS been fixed so I should be paying for a few things to be fixed which is good for that amount of money!) and I nearly did myself in, I am sooo hot and sooo worn out now (windows open and fan on!).
I find my sugars crash in the afternoon so I have Oat Temptation porridge sachets with my lunch, they are SO yummy, flavours with date or apricot or mixed berry, mmm mmm! The low GI helps me a bit later on (though saying that I started crashing around 4pm yesterday and had to have a nice apricot muesli slice, what a shame!). I discovered the vending machines in the staff room are cheaper than out where students are too! Bonus!
The biscuits I am eating rather than Tim Tams are the Arnotts Snack Right ones, low GI and not so bad for you, the fruit pillows are super yummy - blackberry and apple. Yummy!

My pre-preg stuff is in one of those zip-up clothes bags in the hot water cupboard. Be interesting to weed stuff out when I drag it out again.
Aren't you so glad you won't be pregnant in mid-summer! I am cos I am getting rather hot! Only thing is my hairy legs, getting bit sick of those, so might go get them waxed since I can't reach down to shave them!!!
My skin has gone crazy, before I got pregnant I had pityriasis on my back and a bit under my boobs but now it's taken off and is on my arms especially in the crook of my elbows which is really visible now I am wearing short-sleeved tops. Plus my hands have developed some sort of dermatitis, my skin in my groin (sorry if it's TMI) is complaining too (don't think it's thrush, just skin being silly) and I have a small bit of eczema on above my eyes - usually I don't have all of this! So I might ring my homeopath and see if she thinks it's worth getting a remedy now or just wait until after the birth. It's awful and I want to enjoy my pregnant glow without being covered in splotches!
