I don't know why they would be panic attacks Porcelina.
The times i've had it happen i've pretty much been at rest - definitely not stressing out at the time. But then i don't think i've ever had a panic attack so i wouldn't know what to look out for.
They only last about 10-15 secs and my heart races and thumps up pretty much into my throat. And normally near the end i feel a bit light headed and see black spots for a couple of secs. I don't freak out when they happen and no-one would know to look at me, but they do make me feel a bit uncomfortable.

babyg sounds abit like what my ex (from 7-8yrs ago) had.Only he had it MUCH MUCH worse...Didnt like to eat in front of people cos he thought they'd be looking at him, etc....so couldnt even go to restaurants or take away outlets with him...if/when he had a panick attack he'd go all hot n stuff & have to lie down...didnt really like going to movies either for some reason...

I'm not having a good night tonight
I had a car accident years ago when I was 16 on a blind date (hows that for a fun date!!!) and had sore ribs on the right side from the seatbelt for ages and for about 5 years they would ache in damp weather (so I probably had some fractures). And now there's a baby there the pain is back Add that to the squished up stomach and diaphragm and its no fun .... oh and the gas too (TMI!)
I have tried a hot shower, I bet that's what I'll be doing in labour, swaying my hips side to side, I find heat helps me lots for all sorts of things, that kind of person. Have told hubby he will need to bring togs to the hospital to jump in the shower with me and rub my back - I am sure I can be naked being the patient but him naked would be creepy hahaha He's shy anyway!

Porcelina lol unless otherwise (which i doubt) they expect males/guys to wear togs or wear something APPROPIATE when in those warm/hot water spa baths and showers...They made that quite clear to us all when we went on our hospital tour of the maternity ward a few weeks ago....
We bought a musical mobile today, $60, 2nd hand one off someone from that sellmefree.co.nz website....fits onto our cot and bassinette nicely . It plays 3 tunes. so that has saved us some money on buying a brand new one costing $99 from places like farmers and baby city etc....2morro we are getting our pram/stroller/pushchair too from a guy at my partners work, his wife is gonna call over there 2morro nite sometime with it and il pick it up... ...We're just about there in the way of baby items... ...Just nappies n blankets 2 get etc...

Calla I can't believe your boss said that to you... how rude!! Isn't it strange how people just assume they have the right to comment on your size because you are pregnant. If you were over weight they wouldn't dare say anything.
I know exactly what you mean about the hot shower thing Porcelina. I often stand in the shower with the hot water running down my back to soothe it. Have even started having baths (which usually I dont like) I find the water really relaxing. I had a wonderfull water birth with Alex, and plan on doing the same this time.

I was just teasing him about being naked So he was teasing me back saying why should he get in there too
I really miss having a bath, our old cold damp crappy house had a really deep one but I'd have warm and dry over a bath any day.
I was thinking about water births, not entirely sure how they work as all the births I've assisted have been the half lying down on your back thing (which is so unnatural anyway!). I think maybe we'll be doing some sort of birth plan next week hopefully. Mine will go something like don't ask me if I want pain relief - I'll ask, no episiotomy, no pethidine, let me move around all over the place and put the baby on my husband if for some reason I can't hold the baby (in a nutshell).
I had a dream with my baby in it last night. I'd just had it and was back home except it looked a few months old to me! Knew the sex, name, little face smiling up at me and even a fairly short labour I am so sure baby didn't want me to wait until birth to meet it! I did ask for a dream to learn from since my clairvoyancy has been on the fritz a bit in pregnancy and there we are! The bad thing in the dream was I couldn't remember ANY labour at all, not even it starting at home and that was really distressing, not sure what that means, warning me off drugs or the fact that it'll be quick, who knows! Was pretty exciting for a dream though

Not sure how all water births go, but mine was basically like this.... got into bath when I was about 7cm. Felt a lot better straight away, as I was in A LOT of pain by then, and the water helped relax me a little and ease the pain (well the water helps take your weight so good for the poor old back!!) The midwife was on one side of the bath and DH on the other (he didnt get in) she kept checking babys heartbeat, and made sure water was right temp, and then when I was 10cm I delivered him in the bath, which was great. I did get out to deliver the placenta. I found my water birth great (well as good as a birth can be!!) I sucked on gas while in the bath, and still had a lot of pain, but I think the water really helped me relax and concentrate.

Water sounds like a great idea. I guess it is time to think about the actual birth!
Babyg, it sounds to me like your symptoms are worth mentioning to your mw?
I had my scan today, and all was well. She (yes confirmed she is still a girl) has moved so her head is down as it should be (to the left of my pelvis) and then her back curls up my right side, with arms and legs pointing into the middle. Sweet, it is good to know I shouldn't need to see a specialist etc. And it was great to see her again! The scan guy spent ages showing us her cute wee face!! She was opening and closing her mouth
I can start to see know why all parents think their kids a the most gorgeous things around - I am convinced she is a beauty - even on the grainy old scan!

Thanks for that nicolaann, something to think about and discuss with the midwife.
My baby wasn't gorgeous at all at the last scan, they couldn't get a nice profile shot but a front-on one and the bone structure made it look like a screaming monkey!!! Was not impressed!
I am definately jealous of people who have had a 3D scan, I know you can get them in Auckland but not stinky lil Nelson!

Yeah I admit my 20 weeks scan wasn't too pretty - all those bones!
I'm not sure that I like the 4D scans - some pics are pretty cool, but others are a bit freaky looking!

Good morning!!! Well I am feeling fantastic today. Its a beautifull day here, well a bit chilly at the moment, but the sun is out and once it warms up Im sure it will be lovely. For the first time in a couple of weeks I felt really good yesterday. Have lots more energy and even my back wasnt as sore. And the pain I was feeling low down has gone WOOHOO!! I almost feel myself again. Am going to make the most of it, as Im sure I will be tired and sore again all too soon.
I see my midwife tomorrow, so am loling forward to that, its nice to see her every 2 weeks now.
Hope you all have a fantastic day!!!!!

I laughed to myself in the middle of the night last night. Every time I wake up just because I just wake up or I need to pee it's 3 hours apart. No baby yet but my body is going you'll have to feed baby 3 hourly so I'm getting you up already! Only I won't be able to get away with just being up for 10 mins!
Am hoping to train hubby to fetch the baby and change the baby and I'll do the feeding bit in the night

OMG Porcelina - I am EXACTLY the same. Was telling my DH this morning that when i get up to pee in the night, i look at the clock and lately it has been exactly 3hrs apart each time - and i mean exactly, to the minute!
Last night it was 24mins past midnight
24 minutes past 3
and 24 mins past 6
and it's been doing that down to the minute for the last few nights!
I am not a supersticious person and believe totally in coincidence but this is getting freaky!!

Ha - i didn't say that my girl sleeps for the 3hrs between me waking up, in fact i don't think she sleeps fullstop! If she's anything like her father apparently was - she'll be an 'ants in her pants' kinda person who's too energetic and hyper to sleep!

Well this week I have decided to give up on the seatbelt in my car. I have been hanging onto a med cert that my midwife wrote out ages ago to get me out of wearing it and hopefully I won't get pulled over and have to produce it. The Legacy seatbelts are fine but my girlracer car has racing seats (which are a pain in the ass to get in and out of) which make the seatbelt shorter. I can get it on but it's not comfy and I can't be bothered wrestling with it
I have had a sore tummy all night and all morning I think something I ate has produced a lot of gas, I don't think it's the crampy feelings you get before labour thank goodness.
Looking forward to the nice weekend weather - just have to get through a probably extremely boring health and safety training session 11:30-1:30 which is kinda waste of time when I leave in 2 weeks anyway!

Hi everyone,
hope you all having good day. Just out of curiousity is anyone planning on having homebirth? or water birth?
Anyone else got aching ribs? not much fun trying to sleep.but on the plus side its my last day of work, very exciting. would work longer but am exhausted and very anaemic and my other two terrors run me ragged
looking forward to cleaning (that really sounds odd) and getting bubs room ready.

hi all
Have you girls with lots of aches and pains tried going to yoga?
I'm finding it fantastic from a relaxation perspective, and I think it is also helping to keep me pain free. The one I am going to is very gentle but stretches the whole body - based on that class, I think pregancy yoga would be suitable for anyone - even if you had never done it before.
Great weather here too - looking forward to soaking up some sunshine in the weekend.
