i already have a very active 11 mnth old boy who thinks hes rambo.......and im suppose to have twins......we are suppose to get pregs this year..(due to an opp next year) i kinda want twins but not .....basically im scared of getting pregs again as i almost didnt make it the first time, and im so exahausted from my boy who only sleeps 1 hour a day and still wakes at night. i see peoples pics of twins and how much fun it would be and how much hard work .......... i dont really know what i would do/how i would feel if the scan showed up 2 heads.

Whoa, hold on a minute here. You're not even pregnant yet, and you're questioning whether you want twins or not? Talk about jumping the gun!
What makes you think you're going to get pregnant with twins?
It sounds to me like your real question is when is the best time for your family to welcome another baby, not whether you want twins or not.

we were suppose to have twins the first time ....and it falls on my in the pool to have them....we 'have' to get pregs this year as i get my ovaries removed next year and you kinda need them to get pregs. so this is why the question...........of course ill be happy with what ever but would like to hear from mums with twins as to how they cope ............. do they have family support or do it on there own.........is it easier with twins then a little rambo?

There is no guarantee that you'll have twins. What are your reasons for thinking that you're 'supposed' to have twins?

That doesn't explain to me why you think you're supposed to have twins.
Anyway , I'm blissfully ignorant as to how much more work it is to have twins as they were my first pregnancy.

To answer your question about how I cope, I don't, I just get up every morning and get thru the day. I am looking forward to how much easier my next baby is going to be coz there is only ONE of her, with twins you get so caught up in the logistics of sleeping, feeding etc.
But of course there are good things - I love watching my girls play together (when they're not trying to kill each other!) and they interact so well, it's really cute.
But yeah, hard, hard work!

Ha thats exactly how I feel with ONE baby and ONE toddler it amazes me how people manage with twins (but I guess you have no choice really)

Mee too because as far as im aware you cant dial up twins unless Tysmum has some magical powers we dont know about!!
Twins I think when you have then you just cope end of story. LIke Rach said no different than having a baby and a toddlers or in my case 3 kids all different ages.
Best of luck for these future twins on order!

I am a strong beleiver in you being dealt the things you have the capacity to cope with. If you are having twins you adapt to that because there is no other option that I know of. As flissty said she knows no different to having twins as that is all she knows. If you have a single or multiple pregnancy you just cope with it and get through the day as what other choice is there?

I know what you're saying - that you want to get pregnant but are worried that twins are a possibility for you.

I looked after my sisters baby and mine (3 weeks difference in age so twin-ish) for only two DAYS while invalid sister rested up. Can't really speak about your situation, but just to say lotsa hard, hard work, ended each day knackered but watched them play together, and you know what, at nine-ish months, they weren't half bad. I certainly coped better with two at this age than i did with one aged 0-6 months.

I think it was the way it was worded that it caused confusion.

I think what she's trying to say is that Ty *was* a twin when conceived, but the other one was an angel baby, and they have twins in the family history as well, so very high chances of having twins, but she only has one year before having surgery to get her ovaries removed next year, so she has to decide now.
