So what stuff does everyone else seem really into that you just don't get ifkwim.

For me at the moment its two things, I really don't get singstar or why every party has to have it and I really don't understand the excitement around twilight. I have seen the boys in it and they are just not that exciting.

We don't have PS in our house so we're clearly behind the times. we don't own an ipod or iphone and we don't have a flat screen / wide screen tv. Technology tends to advance quicker than my ability to learn it.

My teenage niece is the only one I know who is into Twilight. I figured it was aimed at them.

I don't get why people spend so much time getting so excited about greys, shorty or any of those soaps. Seems like such a waste of time to me. We just don't watch tv in the evenings.

I don't get demanding impatient people, why do they think their time is more important than anyone elses.  I'm constantly having to be patient for people who have little or no patience for anyone else, really annoys me.

ohhhh no, I love Harry Potter , so I get why people love him, but Twilight ....thats a different story (no, really , it is, different characters, authors etc )

I read the books and they're ok , not awful, but certainly not the best thing i've ever read .
As for the movies...
THIS is my impersonation of Kirsten Stewart
*sullen voice, look constipated* " I " * swallow, clench teeth , twitch head * " love " * swallow, clench teeth , twitch head* " him " *swallow, clench teeth , twitch head*

And my impersonation of Edward
" Im a vampire, I look all mysterious and moody and have a habit of clenching my teeth too and I sparkle "

and Jacob
" oh look its hot, I'll take my tshirt off and bare my abs, oh look its raining, i'll take my tshirt off and bare my abs , oh look , i'll just take my tshirt off so you can all go , wow, thats pretty fit, then look at my face and remember im only 16 and you're just a big granny perve "

mrsg, I hear ya , when I was working as a dental assistant , the amount of people that would ring demanding appointments and even demanding we cancel other patients to fit them in, (patients that had made appointments weeks ago ) was crazy .

Lol Deb you should try living in the sticks, where people keep on driving through intersections regardless of what the lights are doing, and then get stuck in the middle of the road. Or people that drive at 80 on the open road usually farmers in brown utes, just cause they're only going a few metres down the road is no reason to drive slow.  Gosh I live in a town without any lights only roundabouts which seem to confuse people.

I haven't read any of the Harry Potter books, but I have seen all the movies and I do like them. I like seeing which british actor/actress is going to turn up in each one.

Lol Kelly I don't get twilight either, really isn't it for teenage girls

Why everyone flocked to see the lord of the rings trilogy. The whole story could be told in 90 minutes and still dragged on.

I also didn't get the Lord of the Rings!

And oh yes do not get me started on NZ drivers - and it does seem to be worse in smaller towns, like people (my mother included ) who can't seem to stay in their lane, if there happens to be two lanes that means they should drive across both lanes ... and just the complete lack of courtesy, like not letting someone on to the road or allowing them to change lanes.

Yep Twilight is a waste of time. And I saw the movie and read the first book to make sure I wasn't just being a snob about it!

Masterchef Australia/Australian Idol/ stuff like that...

I loved Lord of the Rings, and going to the movies was a bit of a novelty, except now we have them on DVD and they're all at least an hour longer and thankfully can be paused for loo breaks.  Seeing the last one at the Embassy in Wellington was really lovely such an amazing old theatre.

I love cooking programs, and enjoyed Aussie Masterchef once it got down to the last few contestants and became more about the food and less about them, I also watch Top Chef and River Cottage, Nigella anything with food.

DH has had some yummie dinners after I've been watching Masterchef and got inspired. I would have entered the NZ one if I could afford 2 months away from work and home.

ooohh i remember now - i dont get (and in fact sometimes hate) mothers who try and dress their daughters, even from newborn age, like grown ups!

i dont get white pants - on anybody - esp with patterned undies underneath!

i dont get why mothers dont change their babies bums when the disposable is dragging on the ground!

i dont get what fanfic is ?

i dont get why your text is more important than the person you are talking to!

I dont get christmas starting in October!

i dont get fireworks in the daylight!

OOOhhh i could go on and on and on...

mostly tho i dont get Stupid!

Its cause your getting older Deb, Teenagers know everything and as I get older I realise how much I don't know.

I don't get people who dress their babies in those awful slogan t-shirts, even still the stores that are prepared to sell them.  ipood and tit man aren't funny and you kid doesn't get a say in what they are wearing.

Trying to find clothes for an 8 year old, that actually cover her body and aren't exposing her arse and midriff for the world to see.

I don't get twilight.

I don't get people who are stressed at work and don't understand that everyone else is in exactly the same situation and are stressed too.

I don't get people who don't give a 'thank you' wave when you let them in while driving.

I don't get people who say things will be easier if my nearly 2 year old is toilet trained by the time the baby arrives (what the heck?! How is it easier having to rush a child to the toilet when you're in the middle of looking after a newborn, and plus risk him regressing?! Nappies is so much easier!)
Mama to DS1 (5 years), DS2 (3 years) and...
